if I  know how I would... like serious how do I that... I want this as  an avatar so bad.

Oh, just change it to 146*146 and instead of .gif change it to .png and follow the simple steps you did for a normal custom avatar.

Yeah but it will look weird as hell. I'll see if I can resize it / crop anything out so it looks decent.

I've resized it to avatar size, if anyone wants to use it. Notperfect, for some reason the text doesn't clip in PS.

I don't care what Dietz have to say, he didn't green light the book, the only got paid for writing it. Karphyshyn is going to claim "I didn't read the book" forever and avoid the subject.

Maybe he'll respond on the 15th. I just hope Bioware releases a statement before that.

I could be wrong but I don't think that the marketing director would be 100% responsible for declaring deadlines and making decsions about auxillory products. I'd really like to know how this was allowed to happen and why though.

I don't think he'd be involved at all. There'd probably be a business development person there, plus Casey as the franchise's executive producer, and a member of the writing team to liase with.

We're probably oversimplifying the complexity of getting a book approved, written and published, especially one that ties into a game franchise. As Mr Dietz said, there were conference calls and the like with the Bioware developers to settle things like the story and characters.

I highly doubt they'd need a marketing person on Bioware's end, let alone the director.

still no official reply from bioware?
i guess everyone in marketing is busy with me3 :D

True, the game is almost a month away from release. Seriously, this is probably what Casey's office looks like:

Still, the faster Bioware gets on top of this, the better. If the PSN fiasco is any indication of how bad a slow response is, then Bioware really needs to respond.^_^

Found the letter. Cant see a date on it but was at least a couple of days ago i think.

*facepalm*
You know, some writers have the decency to come out and say: "Yes, this book/script is bad, I'm sorry". Even Brannon Braga did this once, I think.

yup. it's not an excuse for them. but it is the bitter reality for us, i'm afraid.  hopefully, though all plot lines that were going to be part of the game as well as the book have probably been drawn up by bioware staff. i don't think they would sit there waiting for the book to be released and THEN add the content, in that case the game would be out sometime by christmas this year. hopefully it's been something like "we'll add this in the game, so you'll need to add that to the book", leaving the author to think he knows all he needs to write a book within the franchise, and the game canon to be fairly intact.

Apparently. Every time I leave this thread for an extended period of time, it seems to move slower.

Not unfortunately slow(like a crawl), but just slower.

Guess the rapid speed can be attributed at least in large part to me.

It's already bad enough that Dietz introduced an almost game-like level system for the universe outside the games. Not to mention the ability to sense other biotics.

What's next? People running around with Kuwashii visors and scanning biotic levels?

No. In Dietz's next novel biotics will be unkillable (exept by decapitation) and will fight each other with swords. And it will be called "Mass Effect: The Source".

It's some of the best trolling I've seen in a while. I haven't even seen that high quality of trolling on the BSN.

I do honestly feel sorry for War and Peace, though.

I noticed that Deception is on a discount price of £4.87. Wonder if it's worth buying it to see what the fuss is about... or for torture?

No... just, no...

Trust me, read the excerpt at the OP a few times if you're bored. Wasting money on this is exactly that: a waste.

Then here I am, my fillies and gentlecolts.

The leader of the operation is back.

Now then- lets get back on track.

Today is Day 3. Goals?

Keep discussion alive. Also, get updates.

I wanna know whether deliberation has progressed to a point where we may have an answer soon.

I think we are slowly running out of material to discuss/hate on. There is nothing that hasn't been said before and the hype is slowly fading away. I think that's also why Bioware is being quiet about it at the moment. They are waiting for everything to cool down, so they can bury this whole fiasco, without making a scene. If they don't come up with an official response in the next few days, I don't think we'll be seeing one at all.

Then we create more material, like we have been doing.

I'm quite sure he'll rationalize this by a bunch of angry nerds from BSN uniting to lower the ratings of his book on every site imaginable. Otherwise, it'd be all 5 star reviews.
