So, what'd I miss the last two hours...

not much it seems.

Not much, thread is little slow without your prince force.

Apparently. Every time I leave this thread for an extended period of time, it seems to move slower.

Not unfortunately slow(like a crawl), but just slower.

Guess the rapid speed can be attributed at least in large part to me.

I think we are slowly running out of material to discuss/hate on. There is nothing that hasn't been said before and the hype is slowly fading away. I think that's also why Bioware is being quiet about it at the moment. They are waiting for everything to cool down, so they can bury this whole fiasco, without making even a scene.

Oh, I imagine that's the plan.

There's only so many pages, so many chapters, so many lines, and so many words.

Once we discuss everything, it'll get repetitive.

Which is why I want updates.

I want to know just how close we are. Even if our push here on the BSN starts to fail, we've got thousands of others spread across many sites now talking about it.

We've got back up.

That and I'm not giving up just yet. Speaking of which, time for me to speak up.

That review was beautiful.

I doubt you'll hear back from bioware until someone direct ambushes them about it in an FAQ or something.

Keep in mind that as has been pointed out in this thread before, Dietz is a contract writer. He is likely legally obligated to promote the book. Certainly saying anything negative about it publicly would probably get him in some serious legal trouble.

423 pages of BSN harmony and mutual agreement. I feel like I'm in an alternate universe. I like this universe.

I'm quite sure he'll rationalize this by a bunch of angry nerds from BSN uniting to lower the ratings of his book on every site imaginable. Otherwise, it'd be all 5 star reviews.

Oh he has already started but we have the print and if needed.  Examples  can be taken and questions asked... but he is the wrong... we should be taking this directly to  Bioware up mangement ...via snail mail if necessary.

Now that will get some peoples attention.

Then keep this universe alive.

Speaking about alternate universes, they could always say Deception was in an alternate universe...

I agree with it.

It'd end this whole mess and no one would look stupid.

That's exactly what I'm treating Deception as, regardless of whether BioWare says so or not.

Then we create more material, like we have been doing.

Well, as for the things that may put pressure on Bioware, I think we have done everything we could. Major gaming sites reported on this, amazon 1 star review bombs were droped, Dietz was "shut down" on Twitter yesterday, immediately, after he tried to advertise his new book. I don't know about the situation on Facebook, though.
Any more ideas?

I may have to go that route as well.

Still, I need to hear SOMETHING from them. Anything.

Facebook has been relatively untapped as far as getting the word out.

I've posted many things on my own facebook, but as far as others, I can't say.

Trust me, read the excerpt at the OP a few times if you're bored. Wasting money on this is exactly that: a waste.

I have wasted money on more trivial things than this in the past and likely will again. I do have to admit, torture isn't how I get my kicks... but...

I don't know... I'm genuinely curious to see how bad this book apparently is. Worst comes to pass, I do a good ol' fashioned book burning. (It should also be noted that when burning books, it's best to keep the pages open, not closed. Flames need air :))

I'd love to participate in the error finding too. However, unless I read the whole thing, I'm not going to be of much use.

How about we camp outside of Bioware's office like those two guys camped outside of Valve's office wanting Half-Life 3?

Bioware could treat us to lunch, too. It would be a "gathering of reason".

If it gets Bioware to respond....it can be forgiven...besides it's all thanks to the glorious Prince that this is possible!

lmao.... my favorite quote from this review of Deception (http://www.tumblr.co...ed/illusive-man):

Deception is a very, very poor addition to the Mass Effect franchise. The author skimmed canon and added his own variations to it, ignoring and warping characters and settings to serve a pandering story. But beyond the insult to fans, this book is an insult to anyone who can craft a sentence without sounding like a five year old emulating the quick descriptions of Hemingway. Dietz’s resume boasts a wide experience of writing, which leaves the reader questioning - how does he do it? How does a man with no apparent respect for established canon, and a lacking ability to create an interesting story with sympathetic characters, keep getting to write books in this genre?

What did I say about not propping me up in some ritual behavior?

Regardless, who here at the moment has the novel available right now?
