Know what? Periodically I want you to do it. Whenever you can. Random page, random line, read and type the segment out.

I want to see how much we can get out of completely random segments.

Sure, that's fine. My friend said that if the book's as wretched as I say it is, he might just "let me keep it".
I told him to "go to hell".:P

If so, and I can't believe I'm asking you to do this, but keep it-

We need a constant source of random quotes.

You think that's bad, it's proceeeded by this utterly ridiculous exclaimation by TIM:

“Well done,” the Illusive Man said approvingly. “Our polling shows that even though members of the other races tend to have a negative impression of Cerberus, most humans feel we’re a positive influence. And I know that your efforts play an important part in creating and reinforcing that impression.”

[insert long winded and heated rant about how humans aren't that special and don't deserve to precide over every other sentient species just because they're SPESHUL hoomuns.]

However, getting the age of a character wrong by three years is unacceptable. If you’re going to write a sequel to a series of books that stem from a game then you can at least get your facts from the other books right, even if you have you no interest in the game. This really irritates me, but for the sake of the story I can almost accept it.

It's entirely because of what he wanted to do with the characters. It's not a mistake. His story has both Nick and Gillian brutally murder people left and right and then get killed. So someone made the decision that they couldn't be 15 if that was going to happen. Why this part of this story was neccesaty at all is really the question.

That doesn't make it acceptable though. There are much better ways to write out characters, too, but that actually requires artistic creativity.

As for autism, homosexuality, or lack thereof, THAT is just outright insulting, not to mention that it destroys the characters that it affected.

423 pages of BSN harmony and mutual agreement. I feel like I'm in an alternate universe. I like this universe.

With the odd soapbox climbing member calling everyone 'haters' or some such every 100 or so pages. Members who, not surprisingly, haven't even read the book. It makes them feel good though so it's ok.
Still, those are some good odds vonsidering we're on the net and on BSN to boot. It truly takes something monumental to unite us in such a way. *Wipes tear*

Hear hear, tis beautiful.

Really Mr. Dietz, is it that hard to say approved? Did your word count simply not reach the minimum required? How does a person even say something approvingly?! That's the same thing as people saying things feelingl-- Oh...

Funny thing is, that's not even a lore issue. TIM really is Captain Obvious, even in the games.

Random page and line you say?

Gillian sat down, hurried to free the green jewel from its chain, and dropped it into the universal port located on top of the machine. Then, like a specter from the past, Paul Grayson appeared. He looked ill but managed a smile. “Hello, Gigi. So now you know... The jewel was more than a pretty bauble to hang around your neck.

Don't most people believe that already? The fact that it's based on ME1 is telling enough.

Good morning, My name is Noreen and I'm calling on behalf of Cerberus polling. Do you have a moment to respond to a short survey on your feelings about our secret anti-alien terrorist organization? For your participation, I prepared to offer you variety of coupons redeemable at your nearest human colony world.

Its not that its based on ME1 that worries me, but that its live action.

I get Dragonball Evolution vibes.

I don't see the issue here. I've seen the term 'said approvingly' used numerous times. It's simply a matter of preference which to use. A person says something approvingly when they're happy that something happened. When they approve, lol.
I honestly don't believe that the term 'feelingly' is that bad either. Sure, it can substituted with a better word but it's not really a big deal when taking into account the novel as a whole.

Some members of Cerberus get to help Shepard take down the Collectors, others are stuck getting told to **** off over the phone.

My bad certainly isn't enough, nor is it professional.
