Interesting, the first is a quote from Retribution and the second is from Deception.

Anderson tried to fight back as the gun slipped from his suddenly nerveless fingers by bringing his knee up toward Kai Leng’s groin. But he blocked the move by turning his hips so the blow only struck him in the meat of his thigh.

McCann raised his left hand, and Leng blocked the downward blow, but took a knee in the crotch. Or would have except he turned his hips at the last moment and took the blow on his right thigh.

So Leng is a contortionist now  eh? what can this man not do. <_<

Yeah, I remember reading that and thinking to myself:
"Make up your mind, Dietz, did Leng get hit in the balls or the leg? You are the writer here, TELL ME!"

<_<

I'm going to give this the benefit of the doubt and say that this is simply Kai Leng's figthing style, thus good continuity.

I read two of the three Star Wars books back in school. I was .. in 5th grade, I think. It was a looong time ago. I, even then, thought the books were simplistic and didn't make a whole lot of sense in the Star Wars universe. But I did like the Dark Forces and Jedi Knight games. So I was interested in reading about Kyle Katarn.

I'm not 100% on which all came first there now that I think about it, but I'm pretty sure Dark Forces 2:Jedi knight had already been released, or at least announced.

However, I do remember wanting to read the last book. To finish the story. But I never spent any effort to try and find it. But I read them. They were OK. Not anything I would've recommended to anyone else.

So you in the 5th grade found  his writing simplistic...

A 5th grader found this mans command of the English Language simplistic... that says it all.   I don't have to say anything else because that says it all.

I like how McCann RAISED his left hand, but Leng is blocking his DOWNWARD blow. Was one of them standing on their head?

They were obviously playing asari twister.

I'm not done with the book yet, but how does the events of Deception 'invalidate' the Invasion comic?! I think I read that somewhere.

Would it temper it any to say that I regularly scored in the 99th percentile in Reading Comprehension and my other language SAT/ End of the year standardized testing thingies throughout school?

Edit: changed a word.

Somebody really needs to photoshop that picture of Kai Leng holding the shotgun to make it so he is holding a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

In Deception Aria swears never to work with cerberus again after discovering that Kai Leng killed her daughter.

In Invasion she enters an alliance with Cerberus right away.

I'd say that Dietz couldn't come up with a better move himself, but I guess that works.

She actually meant that she would never work with Ferberus again, it's pretty simple really.

Pretty good considering how active it's been lately.

But don't let up or else we won't make it.

Another reason why people should pretend that Deception never existed.

Well we've been slowing down the last couple of hours but I imagine our chances are still high.

Mass Effect Deception Audio Book:

Prologue: www.youtube.com/watch

Chapter 1A: www.youtube.com/watch

Chapter 1B: www.youtube.com/watch

I don't know how to make a playlist so you have to watch them separately for know. I'll figure it out when I get back from work. Let me know if I should continue this thing. It's a bit exhausting. ;)

Well, what a horribly written piece of trash.

I can forgive small mistakes like "OMG Kahlee was described as a blonde in other books but is now redhead here" I can even forget smallish mistakes like Anderson and Kahlee being "in a relationship" despite the fact that while they recognized mutual atraction, they eventually decided to not become a couple.

What I can't forgive is how badly this mangles the Mass Effect continuity.

I mean, on Invasion, Aria is still working with cerberus, but on this book (Which takes place before invasion) she says she's done with them.

that alone is a really NASTY mistake, but then we get to gems such as the magical aging of gillian and nick, the magical removal of authism and homosexuality, Making kai leng oogle an asari (When he is physically repulsed by aliens) having volus with exposed faces, a black market bio-weapon specifically engineered for the Illusive Man's DNA? WTF?

this book is one WTF after another after another after another.

The only use I'm gonna give to this book is rip it up page by page and use that paper as the bottom for my cat's sand-box.

At least they got the name right.

Deception indeed.

Has it been confirmed that Deception takes place after Invasion?
