Listening back to that audio, I realize that Dietz literally says the population of the Citadel is more then 13 million, and then later says that there are thousands of murders every day. God, this man is a fool. I mean, honestly. That has nothing to do with Mass Effect, or the lore, or anything. It's just dumb. Daily murder rate hundreds of times higher then anywhere in the world, and he just presents it as a common fact. How is that believable in any way?
Just did some math. If we are nice to Dietz and take "thousands of deaths per day" to mean 2000 natural deaths + murders per day, the average life expectancy on the Citadel is............
19 years.
The average daily murder rate in the US works out to around 45. So on the Citadel thousands die every day. Hundreds of those are human. Hundreds are unidentified.
Hey, I found a lore mistake inside this one! How can they be unidentified if the C-Sec scanners can sample DNA from skin flakes?
I guess if some of those deaths aren't muders, there must be a ton of elderly folks on the Citadel. What they are doing there I have no idea. Maybe you could retire to like a real planet or something? I kind of figure most people who lived on the Citadel where there for work.
The lore errors just keep piling up.
