I'm calling for this book being disavowed from the continuity. It simply has way too many mistakes, fundamental and minor, to be considered a true succession to the stories we've read prior.
I'm willing to contact developers to state this. I'd like support from you guys.
We can sit here all day and rant about all these mistakes, or we can act to make sure these mistakes don't affect the lore of the well crafted universe.
Anyone with me?

Well, Marvel did announce that one Spider-Man story to be non-canon after negative fan reaction...the one where Aunt May turns out to be Peter Parker's mother. Haven't read that story, either.
Hopefully, it will be the same with this book and Bioware. In any case, like I said, I consider that this book never happened.

Do you even have to ask?
Do it man! Do it for great justice!

"What would be the best way about contacting someone higher up in the Bioware chain? Can you pass a message along?(would be easier on my end)
Because I'm so taken aback by what I read of Deception and the UNIVERSAL negative reaction on the forums that I am calling for this novel to be disavowed from the lore.
Too many fundamental and minor mistakes, very poorly fact checked and written. We're all either laughing at it or feeling quite sad about it.
And there's an entire near 50 page thread with nothing but criticism for it.
Deception needs to be disavowed from the lore. That's my statement.
Those are my basic all encompassing reasons, and if anyone wants to know why we all feel that way, the specifics are at the link over here- http://social.biowar.../index/9070774/"

I'm with you and if you want to add my name in you're welcome.
I'm skeptical anything can stop this thing now though. I'm sure they've realized that its a dud at this point; but they've already signed off on it and printed it up so at this point they're going to stick behind it.

It doesn't need to be disavowed, because if they games are canon in any ways, then this book is not. It cannot exist in the timeline. It's clear that they decided this would be the last book anyways.
Thats just it- the prior three books were canon.
This book literally is so poorly fact checked that it CANNOT fit the timeline in any way whatsoever.
That's a problem.

Don't add your name to any imaginary list- send PM's. Trust me. There is no "less is more" in this case. We need people to actively seek to correct this for anything to happen.
I've sent my PM. Now we need everyone else to do the same, otherwise it'll look like I'm blowing hot air.

I like the sentiment but there is no way in hell they are going to disavow the book... at least for now.
It hasn't even officially come out yet. They want to make as much money as possible with the book (they are a business) and any public disavowing of the book would likely impact sales.
Not to mention that any dev who did publicly disavow it would probably be out of a job.

Because lets be honest, this book hurts the series of novels.
I'm being honest. I'm not trying to sound like a troll or even someone who's just mean-
I'm being dead serious.

We all need to say the same thing when PMing a developer. It can't just be a bunch of whiny fans saying we don't like it. If we can all agree to say one universal statement, then all send it to the devs than it'll sound more professional and serious.[/quote]

Oh yeah. I think it capped off right at 50. And then Jeff started this one right after the first one locked.

And in my mind Retribution, in broad strokes, occurred in my canon universe as well. While Anderson may have been the Councilor, he still had the clout to get the turians to help with the whole Cerberus thing. This, though... this isn't even in the same ****ing galaxy as my canon.
