Show of hands if this unanimously is considered a disgrace do you think we will get a official response? Or a better book?

We sure as heck won't get a response until a couple of weeks after the street date at the very least. I think what we might see is Casey Hudson and a handful of other BioWare devs acknowledging that the book "wasn't entirely up to the standard that BioWare holds itself to" and "promising to devote more time to working together with its award-winning authors to deliver the most satisfying and engrossing supplemental materials for the critically-acclaimed MASS EFFECT franchise possible".

That would be the lamest way of going about it, but that's the most likely outcome.

I'd much rather have, "Mass Effect:Deception wasn't entirely up to the standard that Bioware holds itself to, and due to the reaction received from the fans, we have decided to officially disavow the novel from the lore of the Mass Effect Franchise. Whatever you read didn't happen, and we'll be sure to have a newer and better novel written to cover the end of that story."

But noooo....

Yeah...

Okay guys, it's midnight my time and I'm heading out to commence the burning. I'll be doing a recording with special mention to certain members here and putting the video up on my YouTube account some time later. Granted I won't mention everything that has been said before, but I've taken note on the more painfully inaccurate points along with some details as to the story-telling of the book.

I'll be posting a link later after it's done.

I foresee this becoming a trend.

You know what this thread reminds me of? Angry Joes review of Sonic Free Riders or Mind Jack. Or Ben Crowshaw proclaiming "There is no middle finger big enough!!" ....only this isn't funny like those are....this is just tragicly sad....

You did what you had to do. And you acquired "Deception". I'm looking at the schematics Google uploaded. A timed editing job would kill the remaining errors, but leave the cover and papers intact. If we ignore this opportunity, that would be a betrayal. He was working directly with the designers. Who knows what information is buried there? This book is a goldmine. You can't just destroy it. Don't be so quick to discard it. Think of the [wasted] potential.

Ooh ooh, and Lemm can...err...be a quarian.

He can meet Tali, I guess. That's not really special though. Maybe for a quarian it is, her being a quarian princess and all.

How about his Biotics never develop any further, and he quits and becomes an unfulfilled accountant?

Gillian is learning lots about Quarians.

For instance, that they have clan names.

On a more serious note, I'd like to think that maybe one day she and Veetor can cross paths and strike up a friendship.

Oh, that's great. Yeah. They can help each other. Wonderful. When their ship returns. Maybe Gillian can live with the Quarians. They'll be her new family, and she can teach them about Biotics and such. On Rannoch. After I help them make peace with the Geth. What a nice surprise for the crew of that ship. Hooray for the ablility to create my own narrarative.

I reject your Dietzian universe and substitute my own.

This is too cute not to happen.  While we're at it,, they can pick up David from Grissom Academy and bring him along to Rannoch.  Then he, Legion, Gillian, and Veetor can all learn the value of friendship and harmony and all live happily ever after on Rannoch as the Geth open up their borders for the Quarians.  BEST.  ENDING.  EVER.

That depends if Ezio gets to punch him later on in his life.

Did someone say friendship cause friendship is magic!

Which means technically, friendship is dark energy.

I thought that Nick was alright in Retribution, a little stupid - but at least he wasn't a jerk like in Ascension. The character in Deception bears absolutely no resemblance to the character in the last two books, though.

Also, mind linking to the Google Docs for all the errors in the first post, Jeff?

And Prince, lay off Nick. He was a douche at 12. Who isn't a douche at 12? In Retribution he threw freaking Reaper!Grayson to the floor, and insulted Kai Leng to his face. And that was when he was only 15.

But we can't really say he stays at the Academy because *ME3 spoilers* and so we do have to figure out something for him to do. Hmm, maybe he takes a vacation to some far off Colony, and gets back right after the Reapers are gone? I dunno.

Done. Mesa not so good with the um, with the linking things but having them written as part of a sentence and whatnot, though, so it's kind of ugly. If anyone could help that'd be rad. If not, it still does its job.
