And why did nobody at Bioware or the editors pick that up?

Considering that his descriptions of biotic powers always involve "gathering energy," like qi powers/solar beam, his knowledge of how mass effect fields are manipulated is suspect.Lord Aesir wrote...
I don't think eezo was ever mentionedLPPrince wrote...
Did the book ever mention exposure to eezo and biotics in the same sentence?

While I wasn't the person who put that in mistake list, "star-shaped" sounds as "thick in the middle with narrowing appendices" - which is untrue for Citadel since its arms getting wider with distance from center. If I were forced to describe Citadel, I'd say "like flower with five petals".GnusmasTHX wrote...
No, I meant some of the "errors" presented as erroneous in the Google doc aren't. Or at best, require further description or context for the entry in the doc to make sense.
For example, the Citadel being "star-shaped" is correct depending on the angle from which you view it. From the front, with the arms open, the Citadel is plainly star-shaped, and is likened to a pentagram in the wiki. But never mind the wiki, just look at it for yourself.
Likewise, there appears to be entries in the doc of things presented in the book as facetious, one being that the quarians are referred to as "gas suckers". That is plainly derogatory, and while I haven't read the book I can't see that being said in a factual manner.
True, some biotics are stronger. But definite levels were never stated before. Besides, how this levels should be determined: who is stronger, person which can, say, Throw with force of 1000 Newtons or person who can create barrier which would absorb 400 points of damage?GnusmasTHX wrote...
Biotics having different levels in their abilities is true. Some are better than others. That's pretty much a fact.
Moreover, Dietz states it like level of biotic = number of implant, and I tend to trust my favourite character when he states that L2 are generally stronger than L3.
I wouldn't say that Tali's suit or suit of each admiral is "motley". One can think that quarians could find a suit for their envoy which doesn't make him look like clown. Anyways, I've never noticed any real clothes on quarians, all they use is pieces of cloth (?) to decorate enviro-suits.GnusmasTHX wrote...
The entry about quarian clothing is also unnecessary. The quarians wear clothes above their suits. It's how they personalize them. And they include the items listed. The "motley" part is especially appropriate, given the quarian lifestyle.
To be honest, image of quarian wearing pants and jacket above enviro-suit is pretty disturbing.

I see, I see. A little more description would have helped with clarification. But now I just think worse of this book.
Not surprised. We all think badly of it.

I can't believe what he did to Karpyshyn's characters. Honestly stunned.
“Why you rotten bastard,” Kahlee said, as she came to her feet. “I should . . .”
ARGH THIS IS RIDICULOUSLY INAPPROPRIATE FOR THIS SCENE.
(And did Dietz forget that Aria is an extremely powerful biotic herself? Why does she need 'Level 3 adepts" to protect her with barriers?)

Aria obviously didn't train them well enough. Money says two of them have only tail whip, and the other only has splash.LPPrince wrote...
Because the novel has weak-sauce writing.

Actually, it might be a triumph of writing. Regardless of how bad the book is, you don't see it coming. The twist is that you wasted your time slogging through the thing. The ending is ludicrous.
What a twist.
Considering that she's hundreds of years old, is a crime-boss-probably-formerly-commando, and took out a friggin' krogan warlord by herself, I'm pretty sure she could put up a kinetic barrier.Aria could wipe out a ton of people herself. She's a super powerful biotic, if judging by the comics and her reputation.

What a twist.
Nothing happens for three hundred pages except that he completely trashes the storylines and characterisations built up in the previous books.
To the point where Karpyshyn now can't even come back and write sequels to his own work, involving his own characters.

She's amazing enough that she can defend herself. Even if she does hire people to defend her, they aren't going to be so incompetent.

Hence the need to disavow the novel from the lore.
