The cover is good. Gillian looks hot. I'd like her to be in the Mass Effect 3 game and for me to be able to romance her. My Shepard is a level 5 Biotic and she is 3 and together they will make a Level 8 baby. She will give birth on the Batarian homeworld to much applause. It will be nice.

This book is like the DA2 of Mass Effect, if anyone ever says they like it, it always comes with the addendum that features M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z were bad, but "it's worth giving a go".

I like DA2. It isn't really a bad game, it's just that DAO was so popular and people had certain expectations which weren't met and now it's getting crucified. This book on the other hand is insult to the Mass Effect IP.

Nah, DA2 had some redeeming qualities and is a worth a go at the very least. Same can't be said for Deception.

Did the author not have editors? Its like he read some cliff notes and just went to work immediatelyThe fact that he retconed Gillians autism is the biggest wtf

No, she's 18. Read the book. It's there! Love that isn't defined by age. My Shepard is technically 1 years old since he died and was reborn. It will be lovely and heartwarming when Gillian starts a charge at Wreav to save Shep.

You know what would be hilariously dirty?

The day the book is actually released(Tuesday), they make a new stickied thread for discussion of it and close this one.

So we would have three threads of suggestions to not count this as canon and recent burning damn thing completely? Why not:devil:

I wonder if they would sticky this.

Not likely, with the sheer amount of negative opinions.

Hell, there's not a single positive one yet.

Well is it a postive thing that when I see Kai Leng, that no matter how badass and scary he is, I'll be laughing at him skulking around for cereal?

I by no means support the burning of books under any circumstance, but I have just read the Google Doc on these mistakes and

OH THE HORRORS

Yep, DA2's problem was that it wasn't what the fans wanted, not that its neccasarilly bad. I've actually got a few friends who love it, the key thing is that they didn't play Origins first.

This book though.....I suppose it made Kai leng a few new fans, at the expense of all of his dignity and intelligence. If Kai was a real person, he'd be hitting the taverns hard right now.

Hence the need for the novel to be burnt to a crisp.

If Kai Leng were a real person, he'd be the guy everyone talks about at parties who gets pointed and laughed at.

You are overcome by tears (happy tears. not the ones brought on sadness) because they found love? As you know, this is something strong. "Hold me" Shep will say feelingly and Gillian will use a Biotic tug (like a weaker version of Pull) to bring him closer to her.

Meh, I don't know. Where I grew up, burning books was considered despicable. But cultural relativism comes into play, so it's a-okay with me.

Don't remind me. I almost threw the book at the wall when I read that... The one undeniably gay character in ME universe made straight. Talk about queer erasure...

And then the people in the taverns would find out, and ... :P

Shepard- 29 when he/she died. 31 in ME2 unless you still want to say he/she is 29.

In ME3, 30 or 32.

Gillian is 15.
