You know, it's a shame. I thought Dietz was good at this.

Don't remind me. I almost threw the book at the wall when I read that... The one undeniably gay character in ME universe made straight. Talk about queer erasure...

<_<

I'm sure there will be gay characters(or at least ONE) in ME3.

Stay hopeful.

Also Anderson has a son if i recall correctly and the few pages i read he had him keep saying, " i am glad i never had kids", " i wonder would have happened if i had kids"

or something to that effect...

Meh, I don't know. Where I grew up, burning books was considered despicable. But cultural relativism comes into play, so it's a-okay with me.

Trust me, I don't like burning books myself. Despite the fact I don't read often, books are still pretty important to our society. Even so, when you read something as god awful as Deception, you'll come to realize it really does hold no place here. In fact, I'm pretty sure reading that damn thing only made me stupider.

No, I was serious. Some of the books he has written in the past were genuinely good.

Yeah, burning books is a bad thing. Thing is, this is a video game novel that's not even good.

Its not like Jace burned a holy book or something that contained knowledge of humanity's past.

In this case, we made a statement. A necessary one.

This book is like the DA2 of Mass Effect, if anyone ever says they like it, it always comes with the addendum that features M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z were bad, but "it's worth giving a go".

I am now considering buying Deception because of this. I've been enjoying DA2 so far.

Yes, Anderson has a child. So there's ANOTHER mistake.

Yeah but ever since they told there's going to be ss-relationships for all genders I kinda hoped Hendel would somehow be there. I fell in love with his character in Ascension: the intelligent, hardened military man with serious trust issues because of the BAaT, with a protective steak for the people he cares about (mainly Gillian). He's just so interesting! And now... There's no way, after this book...

:crying:

Maybe I was hoping too much from the get-go but this book out set my hopes on fire and threw them out of a window. So I'm especially bitter about this.

Amazing how he got a book for a gun-toting first person shooter about space marines and a zombie-plague right and yet a story about a vast universe full of different aliens with different cultures, characters, backstories and histories waaay wrong.

And before anyone jumps down my throat, I like Halo. Halo: Reach is my favourite of the series.
