Found this thread back in ME2 forums discussing ME3 scenarios. Apologies if it doesn't belong.

So I was looking back at ME, rediscovered this trailer. If you ask me, it should have been like this for Horizon. But, in ME3, this would be great; Shepard has to decide whether or not to save one planet or the other. (For whatever reasons) Comments? Other ideas?

So, do you think these types of decisions did make it into ME3? Do you get the impression we have major galactic decisions now? I think Arrival hinted at this, right?

I love the trailer and miss those moods from the ME1 marketing. It seemed much more like a movie back then in the variety of footage shown and with this great trailer for a scifi epic, rather than some epic scifi. ;)

I get the feeling ME3 is going to hit on the scale some of us were waiting for at some points.

Still the best trailer.

And yeah, there are definitely going to be tough calls in ME3 that will make me cringe.

I don't really miss the days where they showed you stuff which never made it into the game. But that trailer IS nicely executed, and I do hope we get to prioritize missions and face the repercussions in ME3.

Of course all the decisions will be easy; just always pick upper-left or upper-right responses, and you're good to go.

/not sure myself if sarcasm

I hope there are consequences for how we prioritise missions in ME3, if only for how it affects replayability. I don't necessarily mean that the game should force us to choose one mission over another in order to get the "best" ending, but it could still have some major effect. Kind of like how in Dragon Age, your choices at the Circle of Magi can mean that you either have a templar or a mage army at your side in the final battle.

I hope there are decisions where it will be so hard to decide, I will ponder it for a while before choosing on my first playthrough

I was sort of dissapointed in ME2 that there wasnt alot of choices like that one in the trailer, and big decisions shouldnt effect paragon/renegade, they should both be neutral so people choose not because its paragaon/renegade but because thats what they thought is the best course of action.

All you have to do is ignore the fact its a Para/Rena choice, if you roleplay a mixed character and just choose what you think is best.

Most people play pure Para/Rena just to see the extreme outcomes of their differences, not necessarily because they agree with each decision.

See, I'm an idealist.  I would like the hero of the galaxy to be a nice guy.  They probably would not necessarily be, but that's why I choose mostly paragonImage IPB

Lucky for you Bio makes it possible to win with either or. I used to play pure Paragon and found it too naive, you just make a lot of silly choices that to be honest should not have worked out for the better.

Then I started playing mixed playthroughs, mainly paragon but with the occasional renegade when Paragon was just too nice or too silly. I found it represented me better than pure Para/Rena.

I love the hard decisions. It really makes you think about your choices and how they could affect your future in the game. It brings the game alive.

Deciding over a planet is easy.
Now deciding whether or not to romance the blue alien or the masked alien... That is tricky.

I'm kicking myself for having read it, but I did read what I thought at the time was just a post by a troll with too much time on their hands, but is actually the broad skeleton of the plot for 3...there are certainly going to be some tough decisions, and some where I hope there will be a middle ground for some. I am glad that I didn't get much info out of it compared to what there will be in the final version.

Jelly-filled has some surprising implications in the game...

If you chose jelly-filled, the jelly that shot out wound up travelling from the donut shop on the citidel all the way through the mass relay as a ship was heading to the Sol system, once there, it travelled all the way to earth, arriving right as Harbinger has Shepherd pinned near the reapers' off button, landing on Harbinger, frying the circuits on Harbinger's main cannon...as for glazed...If you went with glazed, enkindlers help you...

It would be kind of awesome and fitting for them to make an ME3 in that vein, complete with the "Many decisions lie ahead, none of them easy." It would be a nice book end for Shepard's story.

It won't happen because they aren't after fans like us now, they are after the big sell, which is high-action shooter markets. Thus, almost exclusively warzone footage, despite much or even the majority of our time in ME3 will not actually be spent in the middle of the battle scenes. I personally miss the other side in marketing when we saw conversations and exploration more.
