First, I'm going to post my system specs:

Operating SystemMS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
CPUIntel Core i7 960  @ 3.20GHzBloomfield 45nm Technology
RAM6.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 534MHz (8-8-8-20)
MotherboardASUSTeK Computer INC. SABERTOOTH X58 (LGA1366)
GraphicsNVIDIA GeForce GTX 470
Hard Drives977GB Western Digital WDC WD10 02FAEX-00Z3A0 SCSI Disk Device (SATA)
Optical DrivesOptiarc DVD RW AD-7261S ATA Device
Audio
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio

Now that that's over with, I have a question. I know this system I have isn't bad. I've played more graphically intense games, on High, than Dragon Age 2. So, here's my question. Why, given my systems specs, do I have to run DA2 in DX9 and on medium graphics to get any kind of decent smoothness out of the game? I'm guessing it's a DX11 issue but, to be honest, I have no idea why it would be so. Can someone help me out? Is it a graphics driver known issue or is it mainly DX11? I have no idea. All I know is that I have a system I spent money to run games on high and DA2 won't let me do so. It's very frustrating. Thank you in advance.

There are no Bioware people here.  This is what is at the very top in here:

"Dragon Age II PC Technical Self Help. This forum is for fans and owners of Dragon Age II on PC to assist each other with technical questions and advice. Official game support is provided by Electronic Arts at the link at the bottom of the page.Fans are encouraged to try to assist each other here."

The link mentioned is centered at the bottom.

Alright I will jsut move my post somewhere else then. If I can't get a straight answer from here that is. Figured other people might be having the same issue. Exploring my options before I deal with some customer help. It';s ridiculous to me, though, that I can't get an answer from someone JUST because this isn't in the "correct forum". Ridiculous. Oh well, that's what I get for trying to communicate with fellow gamers.

Your question is posed as if intended for someone able to actually DEAL with the situation. Other than ME-3's forums, the rest of the social site died down to almost nothing. If it's not in a FAQ or covered in the archives, there just isn't much of anyone left here to answer you new arrivals any more.

I see. It's too bad the forums are not as active as in the past. Understandable though. I didn't really think of that when I posted. I apologize for being a might childish in my response to you. You are only trying to help and instead of taking your advice and working to fix my problem I just got frustrated that it was my only response. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know what's up with the forums =D

The nature of a "mutable" gaming experience is such that many of the members enjoyed sharing their feelings about the games and the Mods when there was no EA involved to dictate certain kinds of things. The NWN1 game and KotOR had many fans who gathered in the Legacy forums and became a community. NWN1 continued to sell and to keep players coming back to see what new development the modders came up with.

NWN2 has a less accessible toolset, and fewer modders adopted it the way that they had with NWN1. Nevertheless, some of the mutability was slowly building, before the merger with EA. Compared to the Legacy Forums, the Social site is a shadow of what went before. It's too bad.
