I do have to admit, it's entertaining to read all the Origin hate comments under the screen. It's like no matter what they post, people will take a chance to criticize forced Origin on ME3. Good!DayusMakhina wrote...
Always find these things interesting just to see how quickly the likes rack up. Already had 400 additional likes in the last 10 minutes. Granted, i'm sure as hell not participating in it.

As I understand it, early access refers to the multiplayer portion, which will be released on Feb. 17th. The singleplayer part is released on Feb. 14th, with MP remaining locked until 3 days later.IsaacShep wrote...
No, it's about info how to get early access that will be released on Feb 7. Early access won't be more than 3 days or so before Feb 14Bekkael wrote...
Only part I'm interested in, is the early access on Feb. 7th. =O
However, those with "early access" will be able to jump into MP right off the bat, on the 14th.

No, there's almost no chance that would happen.

Seconded, but the thing that really annoys me is this obnoxious "help us unlock the trailer" bullcrap. Just say "like to unlock," or "like for unlock," but not "help us." It's just condescending and manipulative.KBomb wrote...

ME1 and 2 had these really cool websites with snippets of information, cool graphics, and short clips. They made the Mass Effect universe look like a really cool place with awesome characters. They actually taught me something about the games I would be playing and made me want more.
Now we get this shoddy press release, exclusive content, buzzword-loaded social networking BS that seems to discourage me from using my brain. Mass Effect is no longer a universe for me to explore, an adventure for me to embark upon, a high-risk mission in which I'll team up all sorts of really cool but dangerous people who won't trust or respect me unless I'm the hero and commander the galaxy needs, but a product.
A product.
Look, fellas. If I need a mindless piece of entertainment, I can play Tetris. Show some respect for your own game. Don't make your target audience feel stupid.
Because nothing turns me off something faster than if it treats me like I'm an idiot.
As for this Facebook nonsense, I think it's less Bioware/EA's fault and more the Twitter generation in general. We're kind of the ones that validated the whole "the masses are stupid and have short attention spans" thing today's business world ruthlessly feeds upon.

But seriously. Talking about voice acting, world building, game programming, combat mechanics, new characters, and the like should be exciting. It should be an opportunity to learn something as well as get hyped for the game.
But Bioware Pulse buries it in all this obnoxious awesome-awesome-awesome-also-buy-this-thing-no-one-cares-about-lulz. The actual information, the cool stuff, about the game, is weighed down by needless transitional crap and assurances that boy oh boy is this game gonna be cool.
Well, don't tell me how cool it is. Show me. Without throwing T-shirts and unrelated promotional crap in my face.
And seriously, since this is the "perfect" place for newcomers to enter the series, shouldn't it also be the perfect time to get them up to speed with all the lore and characters? Why not have a little flash page on James or Liara or Garrus that gives the new player a taste of who they are? You know, something that makes them think, "this guy is awesome; I can't wait to have him on my team," like those little bios they did for Wrex, Ash, and Nihlus for ME1? Like the crazy-sweet CG squadmate trailers for ME2?
Hell, why not do little animated flash shorts on each of the races and their histories or whatever? What about class videos again?

Oh my. Yes please. ToR had something similar for a while, with explanations of backstory and events that lead up to the situation as it stands in-game, and they were by far my favourite part of the marketing for that.AdmiralCheez wrote...

Sadly, it's my general impression that they were also the most ignored/forgotten by The Masses.
