I am not saying that people can't have platonic relationships, that is how it is called.

It is just that specific word bromance is a platonic romance between 2 straight men
:)

What makes you so sure of that?

Square outright admitted that they were trying to create "a female version of Cloud."

...Not that they had to try very hard, considering the typical FF male.

Sure, works, they still look different though imo, maybe that's just me.

Also final fantasy male characters look awesome.

You mean feminine.

Or awesome.

Nah definitely feminine.

I would agree, but I feel my K Dash avatar is too androgynous to have a leg to stand on.

As I said they are MORE feminine than a tipical male, but you disregard that they are more masculine as well. They are perfect and that is why it is called a fantasy. They put typical woman's appearence to shame with their beauty and at the same time they put a typical man's stregnth and courage to shame. But it is not just guys in Final Fantasy, woman like Lightning is as well, because she is more beautiful than a typical woman and stronger than the typical man.

Femme or not, Cloud looks awesome.

Although, Square Enix can't make men's clothing worth anything.

Except for the straight men part, he's right. It's platonic.

It's a spoiler.

But, two new characters who haven't been officially revealed yet are gay for sure, one male, one female.

Liara and Kelly are still bi.

We can only speculate about the rest, but I think that the chances of Vega being bi are pretty high.

There. Done. Was that so hard you guys?

To a human yes, but to Asari gender is meaningless since they are a mono-gendered race.

As for a man/woman "bromance" - TVTropes refers to this as "platonic life partners".

It's usually called the 'friendzone', but then again, male denial.

While I've not played ff13, I've played and beaten ff1-10. And uh... strong females? *laughs* And before you mention Tifa, come on. Just after you notice she is useful in battle, other characters have to point out what a great housewife she'd make. Terra? Her character defining moment of awesome is still to get her arse handed to her, though at least she tried, I suppose... Rinoa, Rydia, Dagger, Lenna, Yuna, all the weak princess whose only somewhat strong point is strong morals (and in Dagger's and Yuna's cases, plot power).

FF does many things right, or at least used to. Strong women is not one of those things. Then again, I guess perhaps Faris may be a strong female, though they still have to go with the trope of her being more or less a man who they simply say is female for the sake of it to get her there (she even speaks in masculine language in the original script).

I didn't say ALL women in FF are strong, I said there are strong women in FF. Not all men in Final Fantasy know how to fight too. Lightning is a protagonist, so she kicks butt through out all game. Tifa would smash the face of any typical man in a heartbeat, it doesn't matter if there is a guy in FF that is stronger. There is also Paine, who is a badass fighter.

My guess would be anyone you choose to go romantic with.

God I hope not.  It will mean that Bioware just sacrificed story and character so that you could sex up whatever character you feel like sexing up. It would be retarded.  Certain characters probably, (hopefully) will be while others will not.

Did you intentionally leave out the copula in the title in an effort to be funny? or is your native language a Slavic one where the copula is not necessary, such as Russian?

Well you can't start a romance with ME2 characters in ME3 so their sexual orientation will forever be a secret. Unless they state it in ME3, of course.

Stupid women in thread! Just answer question. Who gay and who not?!?! IT'S SIMPLE QUESTION! ANSWER IT!!!

WHO GAY AND WHO NOT????!!

Ah to Hell with it! I'm soloing Mass Effect 3 just to be on the safe side.

XD

---

Mocking of the thread title aside, I hope Bioware don't pull a Dragon Age 2 where everyone is bisexual. For me, that's unrealistic. Dragon Age: Origins got it right. Then again, one could argue that companions in DA2 were only gay if you were but this wouldn't work for Anders because he admits to being in a relationship with Kyle straight away. The theory could work for Merril and Fenris though.

And you're only going to discover if someone is gay or bi if you start chatting them up.

Yeah, I'll tell ya what's also unrealistic - the fact that 90% of ManShep's female squadmates are into him. Or the fact all these women absolutely don't mind dating a guy who beats other women for no reason. Ohh yeah, don't forget about not carring about anything Shep does even if it's incompatible with the LI's moral standards & criterias. It's especially more jarring in a franchise like Mass Effect which focuses on choices and morals, not on sexual orientation. But of course we never see anyone complaining about that, go figure
