According to a interpreted tweet from Mike Laidlow, it's very assumably an english reveal.

i would assume that there will be DLC of some kind tied to the american or japanese relese date. mabye having to do with the anime (like with felicia day's seris)
if so, i'm betting it will be 100% post ending DLC since it's about casandra!!

HEY. I wonder if there will be a DLC to tie in with the movie. My brain just turned on, sorry.
This Anime move is about Cassandra's past. I do not think it can be implemented in DA II

But a story about the present could be done.

Dragon Age 2 was released in Japan last year, right? I read that it was, but I live in Japan and have been wanting to play it in Japanese... But then, as far as I understand, Western RPGs don't usually do well here for some reason. I don't know why, but yeah, I suppose Dawn of the Seeker was made to try to attract Japanese audiences?

I believe DAII will be released in Japan in February this year with full Japanese voice over (look at how hard they tried). Well this movie is due in February too. So I would say yes. They probably made this to open Japan market. But I personally think it will fail miserably.

To say the last, it was just "meh" CGI with a bunch of faceless characters and barely any hint that it was Dragon Age-related. Jeez, was traditional animation too hard for them?
I woulda preferred something like what was done with the Halo Legends anime.
Besides, does anyone even like or care about Cassandra?

Okay, that explains it. When I looked it up online, it said it'd been released in Japan last March. I heard lots of the games released in March didn't do well due to the disasters here, though, that happened that month... Someone told me Dragon Age Origins didn't do very well here, either, but I don't know the actual data.
But DA2 has a lot going for it to appeal to a Japanese audience... namely oversized swords, a bishounen and in-game yaoi.
I'm only disappointed though because I don't think the trailer I saw looked very good at all. The CGI looked choppy and weird. I'm not opposed to anime style at all, but hopefully the actual movie is better than the trailer's animation.

Were the Ogres and Golems not familiar?

I said barely any hint, not no hint whatsoever.
And really, to anyone else they're just random monsters and stone warriors.

I don't think many people outside the Bioware fanbase will buy it tbh... and anyway theres the big sign that says DRAGON AGE too

that'll help.
In 1998, Tristar released a movie called GODZILLA, but it had nothing to do with the real Godzilla, and looked nothing like him.
So yeah, just calling it Dragon Age doesnt make it Dragon Age. It needs to look, sound, and feel like Dragon Age.

I actually loved that film. The real Godzilla is such an overkill. That monster had a heart <3 and...and she died...
Anyway we'll see when what happens when it comes. From the Japanese trailer it *looks* like Dragon Age (Ogres, Golems, Pride Demons, Dragons... all straight from the game...) but will it feel like Dragon Age? I think probably. But if you talking in terms of 'animation style' than the actual feel then nahh... I forsee many over exaggeratec combat scenes haha.
I think many of you won't like it because of the anime style. But hopefully it does well in Asia and does become a critical success and just barely a commercial success too.
