the people that hate Bioware's direction

The problem with this group is that most of them are there 'for the fun.' I bet a large percentage haven't played Baldur's gate, let alone KOTOR or NWN.

I haven't played any of those games. I do have played DA:O, and I despise the direction taken with DA2. So what?

I love(d?) Dragon Age, I love anime, and I still think this movie looks like total ****.

<_<

@ The two of you...

Alot of these people ACT like they've been a Bioware fan from the start, or have played every single Bioware game published.

"Oh I've played Baldur's gate One! Oh yes... remember Irenicus in that game? Bloody ******" see where I'm getting at?

What are you babbling about, drone?

What does this have to do with the quality of the movie they've presented?

It has nothing to do with the quality of the product. It has everything to do with the bashing of DA2 and BioWare and how it's become a sort of 'trend' or 'meme' within the gaming community.

I find it absurd that such statements are made when they have a general lack of understanding with anything BioWare.

It annoys me to no end when people who have told me "Dragon Age 2 sucks" but then have had no idea what the plot is about. They just mimic what 'x' has said on 'y' and base their empty opinions on that alone.

I underlined my previous sentance...just to point out the mistake in there. Sure it isn't quoted from an actual comment, but it's something I like to point out.

When this comes up:

"The people that hate Bioware's direction
"

I feel rage all over. So I apologise for that. I can understand the statement being used specificly to DA2 when in comparison to DA:O. But when people use that phrase and then add to it, the following: "Oh I've played Baldur's gate One! Oh yes... remember Irenicus in that game? Bloody ****** remeber the good old days of Diablo?" It makes my nerves wreck... yes alot of nerd rage, but please understand that...

I'm a huge freaking nerd.

My personal opinion on the anime remains neutral really. I want to reserve my judgement for an English trailer since I don't understand Japanese it all sounds silly to me, I guess people experienced with Japanese anime can appreciate it more? The only big criticism I have is the Dragon animation which feel very stiff, other than that it looks fine. It's an anime. If years of watching Dragon Ball Z as a kid and Pokemon has taught me anything is that some werid crap is bound to happen hehe.

And please... 'drone' and me don't go together. I am fully aware of DA2's flaws, and in general feel that EA is perhaps ruining this company. I get upset when people predict the end of the world and constantly bash BioWare for one bad game. I can see the dissapontment, but I don't think pissing on the very name of BioWare is neccesary. Especially when said person hasn't even played DA2 let alone the other games said person is comparing it to.

To be honest I would say hardly any of the complaint about DA2 is prefaced with the assertion that the person complaining has been a BioWare fan since the BG days (even if for many of them that may be true). The complaints are almost always specifically about the quality compared to DAO.

Not to veer off of your guys heated(to put it lightly) debate, but anime is crap in my opinion. That said, I am going to pre-order this movie as soon as it is available in Engrish.

Cool story bro, needs more dragons....

Will there be an Engrish edition? I think I might want to see that over the English edition.

So a quick question about Jeffery Scott, the one who wrote the script for this movie. Is this his first project that is aimed towards an older audience? Or am I missing something on his IMDb?

I wonder which language I should watch it in. I understand both languages, so I tend to go with whatever the script was written in / the mouths were animated for. Since it's animated in Japan, my guess is that even if the original script was written in English, the mouth movements would be synched for the Japanese translated script?

It's usually not difficult to choose which language to go with x) I suppose I may end up watching both language tracks, but a nice first impressin would be preferred =)

EDIT: I hope there will be a Region 2 version of the film, preferbly with both language tracks... just checked amazon.co.uk and I couldn't find any European preorders. If Europe is getting screwed out of this film just like we are seemingly getting screwed out of Redemption (why region code something if you're not gonna release it abroad any way? afraid of making money? =S), I'll be quite upset.

The mainstream Japanese animation studios don't do lip syncing, so that lip syncing will be off with no matter which language you watch it in... :<

So far only Studio Ghibli (to an extent) and Square Enix have managed to master the knowledge of looking at lips and working out which sound they are making, so that they can then animate it so that the sound and the lips work in harmony.
Square Enix's lip syncing is AWESOME :D, I think Square is harbouring all of the best animators.

If it's a bad Funimation dub, then Japanese subs for me.

So when should we get a story summary? It's out in theaters in Japan already and I really want to know the story and how it expands on the lore.

Someone on Yahoo! Japan said a similar thing about Chiaki being medicore and GACKT being over the top. This is what I found after a quick google search. It looks that people who saw the movie get free DLC for Dragon Age 2. The Item pack 1 for the PS3 I believe.

I mean spoilers. I want to know the plot of the movie and whatever revelations it brings to the lore.

Merciful Hells! IMHO the graffix in Dawn of the Seeker are sadly disappointing. Cancelling pre-order now. This is definitely not the quality of DA material. I've enjoyed all of the DA games, including the DLC. In fact, I've played  DA2 four times. I'm just spoiled. ::sigh::

If I sound harsh, it's because I'm dying of boredom playing Skyrim. The First Elder Scrolls game I don't care for.
