Okay, some of you might know this but i just wanna share.. If youre a mage you get carver ryt? I suggest before you go to the deep roads expidition don't bring him with you so he'll go join the templars.. I know some of you might think"why?" here's my answer, at the end if you sided with the mages you will fight meridith, and knight commander cullen will help you defeat her because she gone to far... Guess what carver don't want to kill his brother/sister so he will join you help defeat meridith.. So i think it helped me, i dont know about you guys and also dont forget to recruit fenris to so you will have fighting with you avelin, varric, isabella, merill, anders( dont let go of him when he pulled the triger at the chantry ), fenris, knight commander cullen and your own brother carver..i dont know about the warrior and rogue tho.. So i hope i helped you.. And also if youre afraid of losing carver as your damage dealer you can use fenris or varric..

I'm not sure what exactly is the "tip" here? Various NPCs may join you in the end battle depending on your choices and Carver joins you whether he is a templar or a grey warden.
Also, you might have to fight some of your party members (such as Fenris) - again depending on your choices.

My character is good and not evil.. All of my allies are 100% enemies.. In some of my playthourghs neither carver and bethany helped me when i defeated merdith.. All of my allies helped including knight commander cullen..

Siding with the mages is not "good" nor is siding with the templars "evil".
As I said, the selection of the characters who will join you depends on your previous choices. My latest character sided with the mages and had to kill Fenris who attacked her.

Anders destroyed the chantry so they gave me a choice either haing him back, let him go or kill him.. I choose to let him stay because his my primal and elemental mage.. Did you choose the fate of fenris or meridith killed him?

Fenris confronted my mage in the Gallows and attacked her. Other characters (such as Anders) may attack Hawke as well.

I'm not exactly sure with Fenris, but if he is not at 100% rivaly or friendship, and Hawke sides with the mages, he will attack Hawke.
Again, not completely sure of the percentages there. Some have even said you need to be in a romance with him for him to not attack you. I can't verify this, since I always romance Fenris anyway, and when I don't romance him, I don't recruit him.

Not seeing the tip here..
Anyway Fenris must be at 100% rival or friendship for him not too attack you. Or pretty close too it anyway. I had him at about.. 90& friendship , he said he wasn't going to help me fight the templars but I ended up persuading him too help me near the last battle.
And motomoto: you don't need too be in a romance with him for him too not attack you . I can confirm this
. I was in a relationship with Anders, he left when I sided with the mages, he ended up re-joining me near the end.
