Even on the PC, there'd be a RAM issue.

the xbox has around 512 RAM if I recall. My computer has 4000. Challenge accepted.

excuse me? my laptop is crap... utter crap, its overdue for an upgrade kind of crap... it has 3gb of ram... and you're saying your computer has 4gb? my xbox can run the same games, DA origins & 2 ME1 & 2 my computer has a hard time running those games without lag on the "excuse me but my computer is handicaped" settings... thats with everything including explorer.exe turned off... and my 360 can run those games at much higher quality while downloading a couple gigs of add ons over xbox live, and being connected in a party chat with 7 other people without a drop of lag... and you're telling me that it only has half a gig of ram?

i dont know much about computers but i can tell that you sir are full of the matter that is ejected out of a male cow's rear-end

As much as I hate to agree with him he is correct about the 360's amount of RAM.

Randomly tossing something in like that could easily lead to issues.  You know, like players using Unity and then their party members not instantly getting up because spawn times get messed up or whatever.

I suppose...

Still, it would be cool to have the option somewhere in the .ini at least, for those of us who wish to risk it.

Graphics card>processor>RAM>hard drive  in terms of game proformance, typically.

Isn't there a config tweak? I remember seeing a setting for this in ME1's files.

Or you could just use incendiary ammo. The corpse burns, no questions asked.

I didn't know that every computer had 4GB RAM as standard.

Look, pal. You're the minor audience. BioWare won't earn as much money if they up the specs so only people with custom built computers with the latest tech can run the game. They're not trying to be Crytek and promote Nvidia tech with overhyped and overrated games that just have a high graphical requirement and nothing else.

This. This thread or the OP, whether he knows it or not is this Passive, agressive dig on console gaming that is just old, get over it.

It is a request and a statement of facts I made because the reason for diappearing bodies mightn't be common knowledge. Need a tissue? Why do you even care what random internet people think of your hobby?

These days, every computer has at least 2GB RAM. Most have 4GB RAM or higher.

My computer has 8GB RAM and my computer isn't even a gaming PC (i use my computer for game design & development work and I play games on my Xbox360 and PS3).

This would be a nice feature to have a toggle on with the PC version imo.

How about an option to enable/disable all the other options that people are asking for?
Or an option option option. Or option option option option.

You do have a choice. Learn to mod.

Dude you need to chill out, the reason why I asked is because I feel the same way about enemies just fading out like that. It's something that really annoys me and it DISTRACTS me very often while playing the game.

Secondly I have ADD, so don't try being a keyboard warrior when you don't have any clue why I even asked, let alone understand what I go through because I have it.

Hmm, I've had similar problems with things disappearing - the disappearance can be distracting and irritating, and I do have ADD.

Interesting.

what would be really cool is if we could somehow manage to steal the armor off of corpses and downed enemies.

You are misinterpreting what the point of his "challenge" was.  He didn't say RAM was the only factor that makes games run better.  You have a laptop, and they are not good gaming machines.

He is simply saying that more RAM would allow more reasources to be utilized by the game at once, hence keeping bodies lying around and not disappearing.  Many games used to do this and some still do.  On PC's this is sometimes a menu option or, at least, it is configurable in an INI file (Skyrim, for instance).

You may want to reign in the last line.

How is that relevant? An option or slider would be nice for those that do have it.

Body/decals meter would be awesome.

Answer: No. There is a combination of memory (which has been expressed) and the possibility of bodies blocking important things (like doors, triggers, objects, etc). Bodies will fade away.

If this turns into a platform war between PC and console users, people participating will be banned.

Okay, well that settles that. Thanks for responding Chris, I see you have some pretty good reasoning for it besides not having a whole lot of RAM to work with. Is there any word on the possibility of an ME2 style of editor for ME3 though? I know that editing coalesced in ME2 was risky business, but looking at how popular some of the mods and tweaks were it seems a lot of people appreciated the option.

I never really thought about this but the Mass Effect 3 runs so smoothly that I don't mind at all. I really hope that Mass Effect 3 runs just as smooth if not better than ME 2. The people they have working on it are top notch to have made such a difference from ME 1 to ME 2. You can alt tab ME 2 so much faster than ME 1 it's great.

Agree with you op. The thought of having this added ability is obviously making the console kiddies butthurt over the thought that your system would have a capability theirs would lack. I'd rather sacrifice all the ridiculous arcady zip zap effects and uber pretty textures and have non poofing bodies myself. Couldnt they program all the eye candy off of bodies when they die? Make them turn bland but not poof. A happy medium if you will.

Ah, RAM -- you can never have to much of it. I think BioWare should design their games for a mid-level PC. Not everyone has a high end PC; most people, in fact, own a mid level one. Now before some of you all get irritated, just listen: I think BioWare should release a graphics update pack. It could enhance the base game by adding left over bodies, damageable walls... et cetera. I believe Battlefield had something similar -- some type of texture pack or something.
