I can safely say that in all my time playing Mass Effect 2 never at any point did I look at EDI and think to myself:
"This computer AI would be perfect if only it had some ******!"

That about sums it up for me, I've no issue with sex in the game, heck put more in, but EDI already has form, the normandy, she did not need to become a barbie doll, when listening to EDI I get the impression she would actually object to it.

As long as they give me an option of not activating her like they did with LEGION i'll be happy ;)

They clone Saren and make him into a squadmember and romance option. Saren is also wearing a skimpy catsuit.

So let me drop in my two cents, here.

I am against the whole EDI-body thing. It would have been really, really cool if they kept running with the sentient ship thing--THAT was sweet, and a nice parallel to the Reapers. It's slightly amusing that they gave her a little remote-control doll for her to harass Joker with, but still, this is something best left to the fanfics. The bad ones.

The design itself isn't that bad. In fact, I kind of like the Metropolis salute, and she's cute in her own little way. The hair is weird, but whatever. The problem I have here (along with Ash's makeover) is that the FIRST thing the devs thought about was sex appeal. Because they were female.

Look, being sexy is okay. In fact, it's great! But I can't help but lose a little respect for Bioware for putting ****** before character. For Kaidan and Garrus, their new concepts were meant to show how they evolved as characters. For Vega, his appearance was meant to say a little bit about who he was and where he came from while providing a contrast to his surprisingly friendly nature. But Ash and EDI? Nah, we'll skip the whole thing about having the package reflect its contents and just make some flashy science fiction Barbie dolls.

I'm almost certain that Ash and EDI's character development, story arcs, and power loadouts will more than make up for this (EDI seeing things from a human perspective could really add to the "AIs are people, too" debate, and Ash got armor!), but Bioware, I am disappoint.

As far as making her "Sexy" I thought the Normandy was sexy. As far as making her a squad mate, it could make things interesting. Alas though this is only concept art and may not be the finished product. In the end if I haven't liked a character in the ME series I just didn't use them unless I had to. As always you have the option of getting a so far great story and deciding who is part of it. I say if you don’t like her, find a way to kill her off, or at least her "body". Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I got two messages with the image, so I don't need anymore pms and thank you to the two that linked me to it.

Though I was expecting something more like Cortana, it could be worse.

I just don't like how you can tell its not flesh and bone.

@AdmiralCheez> I always thought EDI had a body and its was called THE NORMANDY ......absolutely agree with you the whole sentient ship story arc was excellent and they could have implemented some interesting storyline there as well....why they would even give her a humanoid body and make her just another squad-member is baffling to me :\\

I pretty much agree.

I just think if they decided to make her into a robot why not make her less 'female' but more 'EDI'. I do like the design though  due to it's influences but it's just not very innovative.

Although when I first read the leaks I expected her to look 100% human so that's probably why I'm not so bothered.

But I will use her as a squaddie due to the fact I like EDI.

Yeah, I loved the comparison with the Reapers when EDI was just the Normandy, although, maybe they are drawing more of a comparison with the whole 'Assuming Direct Control' thing =S

It is just the way they are going about it that is annoying me, the first thing that is said about her appearance is that she had to be 'sexy' I just don't get the need to sexualise these characters who before where popular because of their personality and because they weren't sexualised, such as Ashley.

I'm probably going to regret saying this, but my curiosity has got the best of me.

Anyone care to PM me the picture?

I don't know how to feel about this. It will probably sink in. I will be fully on board however, if you don't know it's her at first. Just an ordinary looking woman strolls up to Shep after the trial and tries to get his help. Shep is full talking to her and then her face starts dripping. Followed by the customary combustion of the rest of her skin. And then she's all like, "Well, ****."

I want to ask a Dev why they did not make her look like Bender from Futurama or that sad robot with a huge head from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Oh and don't be smart and say that Metropolis & Blade Runner are your favorite movies and it's a tribute to them

You wanted titillation... admit it!

I do, however, distinctly recall Seth Green, fretting over having a miss pairing as a romance interest.
(1:04-120)

At least HE's happy. Can't speak for the more vocal protesters, however.

People take these things way too seriously, IMO. This is a non-issue. Heck, maybe she an be a squad mate. That'd be cool.

OK, so the blurb said "EDI's body needed to be sexy..."

My question to the art team: Aren't you guys jumping the gun here? Why does EDI need a physical body in the first place? What is the in-universe reason for this? Out-of-universe reasons need not apply.

She saw an opportunity to improve her efficiency and she took it.

I was fully expecting EDI to get a body. It just seemed the way they were gonna go with it. Plus, Tricia Helfer's voice made it imperative that they do. :P

How does possessing a humanoid body improve efficiency? I thought EDI's purpose was to run a starship, not be a Terminator? If anything, having to devote computational power to running that thing would result in a drop in efficiency, not an improvement.

Cerberus sent a sex-bot to kill Shepard. I am no joking!
EDI takes control for ****s and giggles or does when the Alliance tries to purge her

This human understands.

The TV show was the true sequel to T2. Also, Summer Glau & Lena Headey. That is all.
