Actually... if she has been removed from the Normandy (and replaced by no other AI) - then I will actually be pleased.

Not because I like EDI - I really couldn't care less about her... but I'm a control freak and I don't trust machines, especially machines that think for themselves. I want my ship... to be a ship.

This way I can strand Joker and EDI on the Citadel. Not like Joker has done anything but "talk" about how great a pilot he is.

Except for all of those times that Joker saved your ass in both games - but those don't matter.

It's OK. Let him strand the pilot of his ship on the Citadel. I'm sure he can fly it just fine. And when his squadmates all die because he isn't there to help them out, I'm sure he can just go recruit someone else. And when nobody wants to hop aboard the USS Deathtrap, I'm sure he and his ship can just sail off into the sunset... or better yet, the sun, since the Reapers will have won.

Yeah, I'm sure Vega went through the necessary training to fly experimental warships. That guy had a multifaceted education, he did.

I think they're talking about how we don't get to see his piloting skills against other good pilots in the Mass Effect series. In a way we don't because BioWare has always been a company that does squad combat either in turn style, or how it is done now, but with that being said we may get to see it in the 3rd game.

Should just put her in a heavily armoured battle android. Not some oversexualised fembot.

We're technically seeing a concept so they could still be improving on it. Now sexual I'm not seeing.

No, we're almost certainly seeing the finished product. The art book was very recently finalized. What we see in the biggest image for both of the as-yet unannounced squadmates is almost certainly their final gig. As evidence, I'll cite some of the pictures of Ashley, Kaidan, Liara and Vega that we've seen rapidly flipped-through in the CE unboxing video. All those larger images are indeed their final forms as related to the ME3 vids we've seen.

So is anyone with me that EDI's body should've been a hologram instead.

How would that have made any sense, though?

Holograms have no hands.

Pretty sure Bungie would have sued.

I don't see what's the point of a actual cache body though. She obviously still has to be in the Normandy.

This is Mass Effect man. Seriously Omni-tools can become solid

And what exactly would she be picking up in the first place? She is the dang ship. Heck she admited she could fly the whole thing if she wanted to.

No. Apparently, not a lot of people here have ever heard of Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, either. Image IPB

EDIT: Humanoid bodies have a lot of advantages, BTW. Like, perhaps, carrying firearms? Image IPB

A better idea woudl be basing her on the T-X model terminator, made from a polymorphic material or something.

It's a little bit of added security for her.

Well, to be fair the whole omni-blade pseudo-science thing could have been made to apply to her hands... somehow. I don't know, just... trying to run it all in my mind. That's what popped up.

The whole EDI thing is facepalm worthy, but since it's in the game..meh. Here's to hoping I won't spend all the time on the Normandy cringing.

EDI will be the same EDI. She just happens to have a body that is a bit... over-sexualised. Plus, I don't think the Alliance would take too kindly to an AI controlling an entire ship. Anyone else remember the Hannibal incident on Luna in the first game?

It's not that I've not heard of it. It's just that it sucked. One of the worst space operas I've ever had the displeasure of trying out.

And it really wasn't Gene Roddenberry's, either. He just made the outline. It was Robert Hewitt Wolfe's, and for his brief time on the show early on it wasn't quite so bad. The guy had a space degree in Deep Space Nine; how bad could it get? But then Tribune fired him and it turned into Kevin Sorbo's Wankfesdromeda.

Were they seriously going to make one of the squad mates a glorified RC car that can project a physical hologram? Seriously?

I'm actually OK with this. Having a robot on my team, regardless of gender, will be great. Although, she'll never beat Legion. :(

Bungie sue. Please they not as powerful as they were when they were with MS. Its not like they patented the whole holo-ai thing.

EDIT: I just thought of why would Bunige sue? Halo is obviously owned by MS.

I don't understand your dissatisfaction.

Edit: I thought EDI was a crew member.

Don't worry, it's not like anybody's forcing you to use her. She's even a class that's already represented on the squad, so she's kind of redundant anyway.
