Yes. EDI already has a body in form of the Normandy. But here's the thing that's probably bothering her: GOOD LUCK FITTING THAT FAT ASS IN THE CITADEL WARDS!
She could just hack C-Sec systems and be everywhere.

Way, way, WAY over the top. Like, Nicholas Cage over-the-top.
Personally, I'm kind of disappointed about the whole Joker-EDI romance thing. I mean, I get that Joker is a cripple and probably a pretty lonely guy, but... oh, hell. I'll just say it: the writers are overdriving this whole romance thing. I get that there's a big section of the BSN community who want all the characters to get together and make babies with someone, but this... this just sounds like bad fan-fiction come alive to me.
Also, Joker's officially a pervert for romancing my ship. If he gets his seed on any of the windows...

I was about to point out that it isn't the fact that she has a woman's body, but that it being an A.I. with a woman's body is more awkward than anything else, especially in a game where a good chunk is devoted to getting someone to share your bed.
But again, it really doesn't bother me, because I can see why she is designed the way she is, and it wasn't necessarily intended to "turn-on" players. It makes sense why that body is built like that, unlike wearing cat-suits in suicide missions.

I don't think C-Sec would appreciate another AI wrecking their stuff.
Plus, EDI isn't SHODAN (though, it'd be ****ing badass if she was) and probably isn't thinking about making the impudent insects's lives as miserable as possible.

I've been there before (A bit after the initial release of ME2) and there are a lot of nice people on there who just love these characters that they've connected with. However, it's a bit of a turn off when people get a bit too passionate about said character. Fan-art I can deal with. Flame wars over the slightest, and probably legitimate, criticisms, not so much.
I'm rather surprised there wasn't already an EDI thread there...though maybe that was all tied into the Joker thread.

It was. As an EDI fan, I felt it was doing her tremendous injustice, but I didn't want to make an EDI thread until this inevitable day where the EDI thing in ME3 had become a bit more commonly known.
And yeah, it can get kinda creepy over there sometimes. But for the most part it's just very passionate, very cool people.

Joker loves to fly. So why can´t it be left to the level where he loves to fly a spaceship, that has weird sense of humor? That was not a joke.

That line is pretty perfect to describe BSN as a whole - a lot of cool people with their own opinions who just want to talk about games they love. Sometimes a little to vehemently, though.

I wasn't around the boards then, so can't comment, but most of the current Kaidanites are always willing to listen to thoughtful criticism, or pretty much anything that isn't: "He sucks and he's boring! If I could Virmire him again, I would!!!!" Also, I never flame other characters since I enjoy them all.
It's a good idea that Jeff started a thread for EDI. Since she will be important to the story of ME3, people will want to discuss her.

And that's the exact mentality Joker has. Flying is what he's good at and loves to do. Due to his condition, he can't really do much else away from a desk and I highly doubt he spends much time at Flux. So not only does EDI enhance the properties of the Normandy itself, but she also gives Joker that person to talk and relate to on a consistant basis that isn't going to judge him on his condition and understands his love of the Normandy.

Yeah, they're ****ting up female characters that were fine the way they were. It's one thing if a character was skankified from the start, but it now seems no women can exist in the ME verse without being an objectified pin-up
