A fictional character in a computer game has changed appearance.
Of all the worst things that could happen, this is: The. Worst. Possible. Thing!

And what would that even look like?AnAccountWithNoName wrote...
Since EDI is technically an "it" and not a she, maybe it should have a gener-neutral looking body.

The could confuse people even more..
thats how they designed Enoch for EL Shaddai because Angels are genderless and people were rather confused.

The same could be said for the asari. They’re technically neither male or female but are represented as female. EDI should be represented as a female. Joker refers to her as a female and I think most people would associate her with being female. I don’t see the problem here. I don’t see how she is over sexualized either. If she is being presented as a female, what the hell is she suppose to look like? K.D. Lang? How many people would be happy if Liara ( a gender neutral alien with a very feminine appearance and name) had a “gender neutral” body?

What I'm more concerned about is the look of the Prothean. Doesn't really seem to match what was depicted in ME1 at all. So unless you think the statues are Husks/Prothean Gods, it does not make a lot of sense. Granted it goes well with ME2... Oh well not that I had much hope for any kind of continuity in this series. Honestly should probably just be happy Turians don't have tails or that Elcor walk up-right.

I imagined them being mantis-humanoid aliens

I'm fine with EDI's suggested look. It's an obvious tip of the hat to what is probably the oldest Sci-Fi movie. Metropolis is still a pretty good if you can get over the obscene 20s acting and guys with make-up. Granted the fake robot hair-do EDI has is weird.

I'm in full agreement on both parts.

I more imagined some dudes with weird tentacle/tube faces.
I assumed the Collectors were horribly twisted forms of the Protheans that were turned into "Bugs". Not that the Protheans were "Bugs". Does ME1 even exist? Or did I just imagine it?

EDI clearly has a female personality, and if a woman can identify as a woman, why can't an AI?AnAccountWithNoName wrote...
