I guess BioWare finally thought that it was time they took their own trilogy in their own hands and not let the fans have a stranglehold on them all the time.

Finally how long have then be at this ...

I really was looking forward to ME3 but now I feel it's going to be just another game... I'm not going to cancel my preorder, I want to know how the story ends, though I can't blame anyone who would call me a moron. I just don't really belong into target demographic.

Eh, I'll just read the story synopsis on the wiki (and probably roll my eyes over its sheer absurdity). Not interested in playing it anymore.

But the thing is...

Couldn't we have explored that with Legion?

Legion is his own entity. He represents a race of AI beings that is evolving naturally like any other species
They are unique but most certainly not human. They are a hive mind and have different morals, values & thoughts
EDI on the other hand is an AI that through interacvting with humans is becoming more and more human
Same if she were on a Turian ship and becoming more like them.

Yes the nerd rage over this is amusing  I have too say...

and that only thing they did to Ashley was let her hair down and get her out the horrendous  pink armor.

Do we really need an umpteenth retelling of that story? It's like one of the most overused SF cliches imaginable.

I hated EDI in ME2, now my hatred has increased tenfold.

We do when that's the driving force in the entire series.

Ah, the friend argument. Let's play feminist bingo, shall we?

It's not just EDI's appearance. I've been following ME3 news, and every new announcement looked like it was going from bad to worse. Origin, multiplayer, shooterization, pricing policies, a cringeworthy story in the leak (I play ME1 and ME2 mostly for the story), character derailment galore, now this.

It was simply the final nail in the coffin when my care-o-meter reached zero.

Everyone has their little berserk button. Apparently robot EDI is mine.

Though Bioware's weird treatment of female characters hasn't really been helping.

EDI: anything interesting?

legion: understanding humans will be a far more taxing task than we anticipated.

Don't splash testosterone on me, please.

I'm gay so as far as I'm concerned, they could slap a vagina on EDI's forehead. I don't care if EDI is a tin can with ****** or that Ashley let her hair down and wears make-up. It's just a game, get over it you prissy ****es. All you do is ****ing complain over ****** and other silly **** like that.

The story of EDI becoming a seductress is the driving force of the entire series? That's news to me.

I don't know, I feel like I can force it in my head to not be as silly as it seems. EDI would certainly be useful as a tech-oriented squadmate with a physical body. If she's an AI, that means she's self-aware and may possibly feel feminine since for all intents and purposes she's a sentient being. So if she's aware of her physical self as a female, maybe she wants to be beautiful/sexy with huge knockers. Sort of like in the movie AI, where if you had an artificial intelligence that felt like a kid, it probably wanted to look like one too and not be in the body of Optimus Prime. It could be really interesting if Bioware explored how she handled her image of herself and how that affects those around her. I doubt this new Bioware will go anywhere as deep as that but at least I can rationalize it in my head while I play.
