So I just started a blade in BG2, and I have noticed something strange. The item drops are sort of screwed up. I got a shortbow +2 from a goblin at first, and I thought "ok, that's nice never had that before" but then when I looted Illych he had the Protector of the second, not the Chainmail. What is happening? Are those item spawns radom or character dependant or is something wrong? Will the whole game be like this, because I would not like that!

Nope
I think I figured it out, I imported from BG1 with the Protector of the Second in my inventory. I googled and it seems it replaces Mail of the Dead. I never thought that function was active, but it seems to be.
I do have some mods installed; Asencion and Unfinished Buisness to name two.
