Humans can be any class they want but they will have reduced powers because there is no in-game pausing or time dilation for MP. The whole purpose of multiplayer is to play as someone fighting the war where shepard is doing heroic deeds someplace else in the galaxy (shepard can't be everywhere in the galaxy at once now can he?). Plus, it wouldn't make sense to have a whole group of shepards when there is supposed to be only one.CHARK19 wrote...

Disagree. ME 1 and 2 both had melee attacks. ME 1 even had an entire talent line (assault training) that improved your melee striking ability. All we're geting in ME 3 is more fancy looking melee attacks, which is pretty cool with me.

Its MP so I'm not expecting a story or anything but that was a poorly made trailer imo, could have made it a bit longer so you can see more and less transitions.

I would agree that they have tried to make melee seem more integrated in the combat, rather than simply something to occupy the 'b' button (obviously different with pc/ps3), but I would disagree that it is a big change in combat style, rather it is a big change to melee to make them fit into the combat style established in ME2
That and they want to flaunt a new feature, especially one that is so combat-focused and flashy

You can if you play as an infiltrator. The melee kill the Salarian did is the same melee kill Shepard can do from behind cover.SnakeStrike8 wrote...
I have to admit that I giggled when the screen cut to the salarian infiltrator impaling that geth while cloaked. I sure hope we can do that in single player as well!

Well the human soldier still has AR listed. I imagine since you can't slow down time, that you can speed it up instead. Though it makes little sense, maybe they speed up rate of fire? Still makes for a really powerful ability.
The Krogan soldier didn't even have AR. Instead he had carnage. This just appears to be a stronger version of concussive shot, though we won't know until later. I'm hoping it has some additional viability.
Despite all that, I'll probably never seriously play a soldier in MP. The other classes just look way too fun to bother.
As a side note: what are you guys talking about with the so called "prothean squad mate?" Seriously it's just a random arm with a weird shoulder pad. That tells you litterally nothing. that could be anything. It could very well be a human with an armor design we haven't seen yet. The half second shot shows nothing distinctly one race or another.
