All classes are available in Multiplayer, from what we've heard Human can play all 6 whilst the other races are designated 2 each.
OK, Thanks for reply. But they did not show any gameplay footage of Adept in that trailer

According to some demo images, they grouped Asari and Drell together as Adepts and Vanguards, Salarians and Quarians together as Engineers and Infiltrators, and Krogan and Turians together as Soldiers and Sentinels.
Not that any of that is old news, but I think it makes the selection of race variety in the game pretty…bland.
I think what they should have done was selected the races with a base specialty and given each race in the pairing a different branch specialty.
Let me explain:
Asari and Drell should be given Biotic specialty, making Adept class available to both.
Krogans and Turians should be given Combat specialty, making Soldier available to both.
Quarians and Salarians should be given Tech specialty, so they both get Engineer.
Then, they should have given each race in that pairing a different branch combination.
So:
Asari would be given Combat branch, basically allowing them to choose between Adept and Vanguard, whereas the Drell would be given the Tech branch, allowing them a choice between Adept and Sentinel. Because…why not?
Krogans would be given Biotics branch, seeing as we have Wrex as a Vanguard, essentially. Because this makes more sense than having a Krogan with no Combat specialty abilities. Seriously…who designed this? Turians would be given a Tech branch, which would fill in the Infiltrator analogue via Garrus's existence in the first game.
Now, this leaves the Quarians and Salarians. I think the Quarians should be given the Combat branch, so we'd have Quarian Infiltrators, which already exist (and also what I will be playing as, the first chance I get.) Salarians would be given the Biotics branch. After all, Mordin was originally going to have Biotic powers, so what the heck - Salarian Sentinels are alright. And Tech armor is seen on Salarians in ME2, so it wouldn't be too hard to conceive.
I just like this idea as far as having a choice of diversity, rather than lumping two species together (sans humans.)
Recap:
Adepts - Asari, Drell
Soldiers - Krogan, Turians
Engineers - Quarians, Salarians
Infiltrators - Quarians, Turians
Sentinels - Drell, Salarians
Vanguards - Asari, Krogan
It just makes it diverse, not that in-game abilities matter…I just wished the developers would see this and consider it. Maybe.

The problem is the game already established Stereotypes with the other races. Personally, leave it the way it is. They did it for balance, not to please the fans who think every Asari is a Commando, every drell wears leather suits and is an assassin. Krogan are not Vanguards because they have a natural charge ability. Biotic Charge would either unbalance the person, or make the normal one redundant.
They established characters based on the normal in game aptitude. Leave it be.

Those are just nifty text strings though. They don't actually alter what the characters are. E.g., Wrex in ME1 was just a slightly tweaked Vanguard.

I'm fine with the fact that the Human is a copypasta Shepard. It makes it easier to imput, and honestly there will be a lot of human players already.

If I were to support a Geth playable character, it would have to imply the Geth made more frames similar to Legion. As much, I doubt bioware would go through the trouble of a new model, they've practically reused Tali, Grunt, random Turian Sodier/Garrus, and what looked like Thane and an Asari Comando.
Still, I'd play it, but that would unbalance the race/class generalization. In which case, Batarian, Geth, and a third would be required to re-balance them. At which point, we'd have too many species to even conceive.
There WERE implications that we could see some CRAZY characters in MP.
I mean, I'd laugh my **** off at a Volus waddling around the battlefield or an Elcor lumbering around.
But, think about the fact that there are AT LEAST Geth (Engineer/Infiltrator), Batarians (Adept, Sentinel), and Vorcha (Soldier/Vanguard) to market as DLC, and you could see where there's the likelihood of Geth showing up in MP at SOME point.
I'm just trying to think of other "humanoid" characters before we get crazy things like an Elcor, Hanar, or Rachni.
Besides Vorcha, the only things I can think of are LOKI Mechs and , which seem like an option.

I dont care if its just a worthless "joke" character, i would love to play a volus. Imagine a volus vangaurd waddling along, then suddenly launching across the map in a charge lol
I agree. I'd LOVE it, but I don't see it being a first edition DLC.

And these are just situational advantages of the cloak alone, this has nothing to do with its other power, increasing your weapon damage while cloaked, which we have seen is significantly useful with the "bolt action" snipers in terms of damage per shot.

Looks quite impressive if I'm honest, but I'm not sure how well it represents the actual gameplay. I hope those cool ducks and dodges aren't quicktime events or cutscenes.
they have stated that the gameplay (at least for single player) will include being able to roll/dodge and sprint endlessly. I'm assuming they'd keep the same for multi-player

However, you have to remember not everyone who plays ME gets all the achievements (including hardcore and insanity) so to have that option for less skilled players is a must. Think about how frustrating would it be if 2 or 3 matches in a row you got players that haven't played above veteran and end up dying all the time because they are not used to the amount of damage enemies dish out.AndrewJShepard wrote...

I don't know if this has been answered already but what difficulty level will the multiplayer feel like. I can play hardcore but when it involves Husks and Scions I usually drop it down to Vetran.
Game isn't any fun lower than hardcore, Id be pretty pissed if they make it too easy especially since you have a team of 4 intelligent (hopefully) crew mates instead of the moronic AI. Id assume they would make seperate servers or something for corresponding difficulties tho.
The Multiplayer beta looked like it was anywhere between Casual to Veteran. I did notice that the double defence thing was gone at lower levels for ME 3. That, or I'm misinterpreting information that I see.
No youre probably right, I hope that is just the setting they have the beta on. In ME2 it was too easy on difficulties lower than hardcore to just blast through the weak and stupid enemies and all your abilities were immediately available since you didnt have to strip any defenses. For cooperative play to hold it's entertainment I think it needs to be challenging and require strategic team play since it lacks the intrinsic challenge of pvp.
Edit: Maybe a way to fix this is to have different search options like if you want to play all your maps on hardcore then you would select hardcore as a preference (like in halo reach).
yeah that's true
something that amazed me is how much better I got since I started insanity. I'm almost done on my first playthrough of insanity (I just have like two more assigments (the abandoned mine is hard) and the blood pack stuff, and then I have reaper iff, legion's loyalty, suicide mission, overlord (so I can do it with legion) and arrival)
the thing that amazed me is the parts that I barely survived back when I was playing on normal, I did just as well playing on insanity. Sure they're a little harder and take a little time, but it really does improve your skill.

So I got a question that has been concerning me as ME3's release date gets closer. I love the multiplayer idea and I know it will be fun as everything Casey Hudson and Bioware puts out is pure gold. Casey, I believe, has even gone on record to say the multiplayer will enhance the single player story. Therefore, my question is this: Is the multiplayer mode in ME3 going to be essential to fully enhance and embrace the full single player story? Or is the multiplayer just a add-on in conjunction with the single player?
Hopefully the latter. The multiplayer is going to be cool, but I really hope it doesn't take a chunk out of what this series has been built on.
Any thoughts?
Casey has stated in an interview that if you don't do multiplayer, you won't get some of the options in single player that would be available if you did. Multiplayer is part of the story.
AHHH. That's what I didn't want. Okay. Thanks. Guess we will just have to wait to see how that turns out.
Yo Ballistic, this guys full of ****. It has been clearly stated you
can get every single ending WITHOUT multiplayer. Multiplayer can affect
your game if you want it to, but it is your choice. Think of it as an
optional replacement to the filler missions that help prepare against
the Reapers.
I didn't say you wouldn't be able to get every ending, I'm saying that casey has said there are bonuses that come with multiplayer. that could mean something as simple as understanding the story better if you do multiplayer. You get to be commander shepard and the people holding the line. That could also mean that you get some XP, or extra assigments, or maybe some unlockable powers or weapons for SP from playing MP, but we still have no way of knowing.
and wow you're really aggressive. you should take anger management.
it's like... a severe case of denial. do you just yell at everyone who says something you don't want to hear?
