On about my third playthrough of Mass Effect 2 (getting a nice save ready for ME3) and just completed the Overlord DLC.  I must say it's one of the best DLC's I've come arcoss.

I loved the story; It sucked me in and made a heart-felt impression in the last scenes (I went the Paragon option).
The level detail was more immersive than the core game, which is surpriseing for a DLC.
The action was great and just felt a little bit better than the core game.  Also the M-44 Hammerhead beats the **** out of the old M-35 Mako.

Honestly I was expecting a cut and paste mission just to kill some hours, but I'm gonna give it a 9/10.  Now I can't wait to do my first playthrough of the Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival DLC's.

P.S.
I don't see the problem in paying for DLC's as they are a product.  I even think they go fairly cheap.  $8 for this DLC is just one less Macca's meal for ya.  Really Bioware thinks about it's clients health.Image IPB

The Overlord story isn't bad and the Hammerhead parts are ok (better than the Firewalker DLC in my opinion). I always have a hard time with the last fight though. Thank the goddess soldiers have adrenaline rush, destroying the nodes before David uploads himself to the Normandy isn't easy for me, even with that power.

As for the other two major DLCs :
If Liara was you love interest in ME1 and you stayed faithful to her, Lair of the Shadow Broker is a really good DLC.

I haven't had the change to pick up Arrival yet, will have to before March though if I want all my Shepards to be ready for ME3.

I loved this DLC because it was both creepy and really sad. I've done it twice, once with the paragon choice and once renegade. (I hated doing the latter, but I wanted a pure renegade character on that run... My only consolation was that Shepard still gives Archer **** and hits him for what he's done, but still, ugh.) I never had much trouble with the last fight though.

Arrival isn't bad, but Lair of the Shadow Broker is great, and there's a lot more to it. Personally, I wasn't fond of Liara in ME1 AT ALL, but she wasn't so bad in LotSB even if you hadn't romanced her.

The best thing about Overlord's story though, is  how it really portray's Cerberus.

The first time I played Mass Effect 2 I didn't get the feeling Cerberus was that bad, contrairy to how the books and comics portray them.  My own imagination put it down to Cerberus trying to look good for it's new hero and keep its' bad side hidden.  Overlord is the first time in ME2 that Cerberus has been portrayed in line with the books, comics and even the game's NPC's.

What Cerberus did to your character if you're a sole survivor in ME1, what you learn about them if you do the following missions :
UNC: Colony of the Dead
UNC: Dead Scientists
UNC: Listening Post Alpha → UNC: Listening Post Theta → UNC: Depot Sigma-23
UNC: Missing Marines → UNC: Cerberus → UNC: Hades' Dogs

Is quite on par with what you learn about them in ME2 if you do all the assignments and Jack's Loyalty (before doing Overlord) and what the illusive man does to you during the course of the game ("Derelict" Collector Ship anyone ?).

To me, what happened in Overlord wasn't really a surprise. It was a Cerberus Station, I was ready to see horrors.

The only thing Cerberus could do right is bringing Shepard back. And his/her story is not done yet, so it may turn out to be an ultimate f*ckup as well.

I played ME1 and though I didn't do all the Ceberus realated assignments (I mainly stuck to the main story), I did run into Cerberus a few times (UNC: Missing Marines → UNC: Cerberus → UNC: Hades' Dogs).  To me they felt like your generic merc's.  Then again ME1 as a whole felt generic and sterile.  I still think ME1 is a good game; but I finished ME2 first and was playing ME1 just for the save to en-rich ME2 and ME3.

I finished my first playthrough of ME2 before reading the books or comics.  Since reading up on the ME Universe, I now see Cerberus as the evil organisation it really is.

Anyway that's me done as I was only giveing my thoughts on the DLC and I'm quite sure there is another thread discusing the evil-ness of Cerberus.

I just downloaded and played Overload for the first time last night. I think I have a love/hate for it. I loved how the storyline really got my emotions, but gameplay wise.....I stunk! :P I have never been good at platforming (i.e. the Hammerhead parts), and the damn geth gun...guess I was bad at dodging. Took me 6 tries to finally get through that part. Since I was playing as an Infiltrator, I didn't have any real issues with the combat...thankfully! Good lord, considering how bad I was at the Hammerhead stuff, if the combat would have been difficult for me, I might have given up....or just taken a few days to finish. :)

Took the paragon choice....soooo wish I could've smacked Dr. Archer around a bit first though.

From my ME1 playthrough (I had already played ME2 once at that point), I'd heard about Cerberus in Hades' Dogs and one of the other missions. They sounded pretty effed up, but I would have had no idea how much influence & power they REALLY had until 2.

Er, but even when you make the Paragon choice, isn't there a Paragon interrupt that lets you pistol whip him?

I would just like to amend my comment on the DLC concerning the M-44 Hammerhead and M-35 Mako.

I am reverseing my statement that the Hammerhead is better than the Mako.  I feel the Mako is the better machine, it is the more realistic of the two.  The Hammerhead was more fun to play but that was because its' missions were more entertaining.

I love Overlord as well. The music, the action, the story... All ties together for one amazing experience.

BUT. It is only my second favorite ME2 DLC, with the honor of #1 going to LotSB. I love Arrival as well(yeah I know, call me crazy. I love the fight for your life sequence(especially when you just destroy the commandos) and the final fight/cutscene).

BTW, the Firewalker Mission pack blows massive chunks. I have never completed it, even though it is free DLC. Driving around in a glass tank isn't fun when you have 20 geth shooting at you...

It looks so much cooler when you run the geth over in the Hammerhead in ME2 than in Me1 with the Mako (running them over stops them shooting a t you for a while).  Mainly though, the landscape in ME2 is so much better to drive through than ME1.

Just finished playing LotSB DLC and yes it beats Overlord for No.1 spot.
