Of All the alien races I wanted to see the female gender side of the MOST, was the Turians :crying: Yes, this is an Outrage!!:pinched:

Your forgot, drell, Hanar, Elcor, volus, wait, wait. It gets better. GETH??????.....

Geth are robots, they don't need genders and they don't reproduce(at least, not in the way that genders would be useful in)

I doubt that is all of them since he said that is all he could think of off the top of his head. Probably is a female Turian somewhere.

I think it's cheap and lazy.

I have a friend who flings those two words around together so often, it's become something of an interpersonal meme across my group. You just made me imagine you as him, and I laughed. Heartily.

That said, I agree with you.

It's maybe not cheap and lazy but obviously they didn't want to make the effort. You could say the same about Asari because in theory there could be two sexes.

Yeah that it pretty outrageous because Quarians have been in since ME1 and I don't count Asari. So the only new ones are Krogans which are basically downsized males and Salarians which are the only new model possibly (Unless you pulled a Krogan on us.)

Salarian females hold high political postitions so I always thought the ones wearing hoods and robes were the females (several of the Salarians on the Citadel, the Salarian councillor who, by the way, kind of makes up for the other two by consistantly being the one nodding the group towards Reaper's existence).

So why aren't there female turians when female salarians are more rare? This needs to be addressed in DLC.

If we do get female turians, I hope they stick with what they did in the comics.... Should be interesting to see how the BSN reacts, lol....

In most species on Earth, what denotes a change in sex is usually a difference in size and/or colouration.

Chances are we've already seen females of those alien species.

But people here are looking for human female traits in them to deem them female (more slender shoulders, narrower waists , breasts, msofter facial features etc).

It's nice we'll get to see some females of other races, but Turians really should have been the first we saw. Aren't they meant to be equal to their male counterparts in every way? Shouldn't there be just as many female turians as male in the military and other organisations like C-Sec?

Have we actually seen a female salarian, or is Priestly trolling us? Considering that salarians are egg-laying amphibian analogues, I'd imagine they be a good bit larger than the males.

...Unless the salarian councillor is female, which would make sense lore-wise, but would be kind of cheap since the model (hood and all) isn't even a unique one.

Female Hanar *shivers down spine as flashbacks of some weird Japanese comic images seen in past spring to mind*. I agree with others in that would be nice if we get to visit other species worlds more this time that see more female variations on species. I'm kind of bored for most part seeing mainly human and asari and some quarian females (I use the term loosely with regard to quarian females when all we seen really is suits and masks).

You aren't going to be able to sex them up and they will appear less than five minutes of a cameo..I don't see why you make this much of a fuss about it. Realistic? Maybe. Necessary? No.

Yeah so umm Turians?

Now I feel bad for ever saying anything bad about the Comic Book Female Turians. (Though I thought myself and others made it clear we still wanted Female Turians represented.) Granted the design still makes me scratch my head, but it's uh better then nothing at all. Also how is it we encounter a Female Krogan and Female Salarian(both of which are suppose to be rare) yet never in all 3 games have we encountered a Female Turian? Look the Codex I think makes it pretty clear Male and Female have a relatively equal ratio in the Turian population. In ME1 it was forgiveable cause it was the first game. In ME2 it started to look like a serious oversight. And if it's still true in ME3 I'm going to be left to conclude the the folks who create the character models are inept. I know that's rather mean to say, but this subject is starting to become a bad joke. And something like this is just easy ammunition for people to bash this series. I'll say "The Mass Effect Series was one of the best ficitional video game settings created!" Critic Person will say "Pfft there aren't even Female Turians! Fail."

I mean if it is truly that difficult just put lipstick on Garrus and we'll call her Marrus. At least then I can safely  know Turians are not Robot Raptors. I mean how do I know all Turians aren't Terminators like Saren? It's very suspicious to me that they might all just be Robots.

Oh well guess I'll keep having to using this:

IMHO, Asari shouldn't count towards the number of represented females from different races in ME3, since there species only has one gender.

So then we just need Turian, Drell, Batarians, Yahg, longshot Vorcha and maybe Elcor? To confirm or not?
But I dunno how we may be able to tell the difference with Volus (with their exosuit requirements), or Hanar though.

And then the Raloi would be the wildcard species since we haven't seen them in the games at all yet.

I'm glad we'll be seeing a salarian chick. Looking forward to seeing what she looks like. For some reason I am envisioning her to be a classy Audrey Hepburn type.

It's nice to know the only reason to include the opposite sex of a species is for the purpose of sexing them up.

Look this would not be an issue if say Female Turians  were numbered 1 for every 10 males. You know if there was a valied reason not show them ever okay. Or you know maybe if they had a really prejudice culture where Females are kept out of contact from other species for some reason. Those things would be acceptable.

But as far as I know this is not suppose to be the case. In the end it just comes off as no different then being too indifferent to bother creating new ship models. Would you be fine if everyone just magically floated along in space in seemingly invisible ships during any of the battles. I mean eh why give Admiral Hackett a uniform? It's not important we know that he's an Admiral. Just stick him in some regular clothes and put him on the bridge.

I'd even be fine if we only encountered 1 Female Turian ever. Fine whatever.

Drell, Volus, Salarians, Batarians, and Elcor all have reasonable excuses for not being shown. Turians do not. And no I have zero interest in "romancing" any Turian. In fact I sincerely hope they don't do anything like that for once. I just want them to be in game, because they should be in game. For the same reason that there are things like tables, chairs, and doors.

I think the whole "They stay on the homeworld" deal kind of ruined it for me. All I can think of is Hutts.
Or possibly Broodmothers.

As much as we would all like to see everything possible in Mass Effect, it's just not possible. Time and budget constraints are real things, contrary to what gamers everywhere seem to believe.

That said, all you people that say that BioWare is lazy are just plain wrong. Game companies have some of the most rigorous work schedules around, and BioWare is among the most demanding of them. Calling them lazy is just insulting,
