I'd love to see more female aliens, but it's not really that big of a deal. I'd rather see new species tbh :/

As much as we would all like to see everything possible in Mass Effect, it's just not possible. Time and budget constraints are real things, contrary to what gamers everywhere seem to believe.

That said, all you people that say that BioWare is lazy are just plain wrong. Game companies have some of the most rigorous work schedules around, and BioWare is among the most demanding of them. Calling them lazy is just insulting,

Of course, it just won't fit in the budget. Sure a female krogan, female salarian, two of the rarest female's in the frakking universe, but no room in the budget for what should be one of the most common female species in the universe?

Yeah this isn't a budget issue here bub. I'm not sure what it is, but of all the things bioware stuffs into this game a single female turian isn't going to be eating that much up, especially one of such a debated issue (since ME1!).

I also refuse to believe bioware isn't creative enough to create them. I've seen bioware's works, we all have.

BioWare's priorities are different.  In this case, I assume they felt that female turians were unnecessary to tell the story they wanted to tell.

Please understand, I'm not saying that it doesn't matter to me.  I'd love to see all of the females of the various races, and even other races, and tons of other planets, and all kinds of stuff.  But that doesn't change the fact that there is a limited budget, a limited development time, and they have to prioritize.  You need to just accept that they can't add everything you want.  Maybe they are already working on them, maybe they're not happy with what they have, maybe you WILL see them (unlikely for ME3, but who knows what's in the future).

In most cases I would agree with this. And you know if this was a subject about toilets or something I would agree whole-heartedly.

But considering Turians have been a major species since the first game I do not find the excuses of "time" and "budget" to be good ones. I mean Turians have been a major species since the beginning and were likely created back in 2004 or something when work on ME1 started. You're telling me after 8 years they can't come up with any kind of design for female Turians? Nor have they made any kind of 3D character model in that time? Yet they have the time and money to include a whole Multiplayer Mode? (Granted I'm aware most Multiplayer Character Models are likely taken from the Singleplayer and also that Multiplayer is being handled by a seperate studio.) Also I really find it perplexing effort was put into creating a female Salarian, you know something I think most of us never expected nor really cared to see. Only to ignore Turians yet again who have the least of reasons not be shown.

Look in my experience as a drafter if I left off the wheels of oh say the trailer I was expected to design I'd probably get fired or the threat of being so. I certainy would not get a pat on the head nor expect the client/potential customers to be okay/happy with this and praise my work. Realistically if time was an issue I'd probably ask for some kind of extension, you know rather then doing the irresponsible thing of cutting corners. Otherwise yeah tough luck that's life. And trust me I know a few people who have had entire projects scraped they couldn't meet deadlines.

Still I don't think this is something that should be left to slide by.

I mean if Bioware is really stretched so thin they can't add Female Turians well... then that's what happens. You'll just have to forgive for not being happy with this. Though I'd like to believe there is a small chance I could implore the right people to see this happen, though granted there really isn't time anymore at this point.

Or better yet maybe there are Female Turians and we simply have not been shown them yet. Personally I'm hoping this is the case and I'm simply wasting my breath here.

"Off of the top of my head" is just a spur of the moment guess, he could've missed something.

Humans are obviously included, so are quarians, asari are mono-gendered, krogan we know if in the trailers, and since we visit Sur'Kesh and help out the salarians, there's no doubt we'd meet a Dalatrass.

Now I hope we meet a female turian.   We have to visit Palaven at some time, right?

@Bluko: Couldn't agree more that it would be REALLY bizarre to not see any female turians in ME3 - especially if we're going anywhere near Palaven...

As for the female turian design - there is what we've seen in Evolution. That's canon as far as I'm concerned. Unfortunately lots of people didn't like the design, so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't render them into the game. Shame, really, since their appearance in the comics doesn't conflict with anything we've heard about them so far.

To say it's a matter of budget is bogus since they have EA behind them and how successful their last game was and how much they charged for Arrival with the amount of actual new content in the DLC. Time is bogus also since they've added 6 whole months to the development of ME3 and as I said have spent both of those on making enemy variants of the Husk of each race.

Okay, fine.  BioWare excluded them from the game to intentionally spite everyone that wants female turians.  In fact, they had them completed and were going to have Garrus's sister as a squadmate, and then said "Man, all these people want to see a female turian.  Can't have that."

Yeah having an all woman race ( Asari ) doesn't cover it all up....
And the only female krogan we see is covered from head to toe.
And the female quarians are covered from head to toe.

I don't need to see skin but if there is no specific lore reason that these females wouldn't be out mingling with society then I want to see them. There's no reason not to have them.

So give me some female drell, batarians, and turians.

Hell, give me a female volus too.

The bizarre thing about there not being any female Volus in the game, is that the Volus are a race that you wouldn't necessarily have to design a new character model for.  It could be that you can't tell males from females until they speak. After all they are covered head to toe in envirosuits. All Bioware would have to do is give some Volus characters a female sounding name, and a female voice actor.

Funny that they leave out the turians. There were a number of threads about this last year (when Bioware had plenty of time to design them btw) and turians were by far the most requested females.

So the importance of seeing a female of every species in this game is the same level as having working chairs and doors.

I totally see the logic there..

I'd rather have female aliens (especially turians) than multiplayer.

I guess we're not going to see Garrus' mother or sister? Damn it.

I thought the Salarian Council member was female? It looks different from any of the other salarian and wears a different kind of clothing. All of the other council members dress pretty much the same as the rest of their species.

Why, that sounds like a fantastic idea, GMagnum. Although from what I hear, Garrus is hinted to possibly have something going on with a different character, from what I've seen in the ME3 spoilers. She gives him chocolate, anyway.

Can Garrus eat chocolate?

No, because he's a dog, obviously.

You are going into a warzone on Palaven and its moon, not to sightsee.  They have Turian soldiers there, predominantly men.  For all you know their females could be relegated to roles of combat where you wouldn't see them anyway.

And for whoever said they would rather have a female turian than MP..that is the worst exchange I've ever heard of.  You are losing 99% content for 1%.
