Yeah, that's a fairly common trend. I mean, just look at the Dalish armor in DAO. Female "armor" in almost any game. No one is being fooled, lmfao.
Which was changed in DA2.
I am actually cool with Isabela's design. It speaks to her character and I have no problem believing it is what she chooses to wear. Her character owns the design and the writing supports it. Even more so when you have a variety of significant female characters who aren't dressed in skintight or revealing clothing. She is one person in a group of people who chooses to dress this way, and sure she might be objectified by some but she has agency within the game. I find that way more believable than what Mass Effect does (mostly starting in ME2) where EVERY woman is that way.
Isabela needs no pants.
