I don't think it's that bad to let her look good either. I'm pretty much just ignoring that part, because I don't think there's a point in getting melodramatically upset over it. Not when the positives outweigh the negatives by a lot.

At the risk of making what might not be a perfect analogy, how do you feel about Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
Please don't compare events like this to the events of a videogame. It's tacky.
Besides, fiction is used as a metaphor for real-world occurences all the time.
I've heard it said that one of the main aspects of Science Fiction is to raise issues of the day and propose solutions.
Too bad Bioware is afraid to write anything complex or intelligent into the main plot of their games. Instead it all has to be dumbed down and simplified for the general public.

I don't even think her body is that insulting or bothering from a sexual perspective. Not when I'm comparing it to the way worse offenders in that category, like Samara and Miranda.
It's way worse than Samara and Miranda. It's a sex-bot for god's sake. It's like a bad internet joke.

Why would anyone be that stupid? I'm talking about later after Shepard has the Normandy during the Reaper invasion. I fully expect anyone with sense to abandon the Normandy when Shep turns himself in. They wouldn't be there for the alliance to threaten and by the time anyone in the alliance knows where they are they'll be back with Shep and their won't be a damn thing the alliance can do about it.
It would likely be a requirement. The Alliance would want to take Shepard in and all Cerberus personnel along with the ship.
...uh no no they wouldn't. Even if they knew about the Cerberus operatives Shep wouldn't have to know where Miranda/Jacob were and more than likely wouldn't tell the alliance. They can bark at him all they like.
When Shep turns himself over their isn't anyone but him and probably Joker and if she's alive Chakwas onboard.

When I heard what was going to happen, I already made up a theory in my head as to how and why that happens:
I theorized that the Alliance figured out her AI status and decided to destroy her. Joker was delaying it as much as possible and the Alliance was trying to study her and figure out how vital she is to the ship before destroying her and then s*it hit the fan and they never got around to it. But it was still on the agenda.
EDI was already making plans about uploading herself to a geth ship, or something like that, but was sad because she was going to miss the Normandy and Joker. Lo and behold, Shepard brings Eva, the very human looking Cerberus robotic infiltration unit. EDI uploads herself to it, and pretends to be human and part of the crew. Normandy itself would remain AI-less. EDI would then experience life as an organic, and blah, blah, blah, cool stuff happens.
I even thought about her body. My theory was that it was the result of the first Lazarus project and that it’s organic at its core. However, too much was added, replaced and tampered with and it still ended up more of a machine than a woman. Eva’s consciousness was nowhere to be found within it and a VI was needed to “pilot” it. I though that the Justice/Kristoff sort of situation would occur.
Alas.
Even so, I like EDI, and I can understand why they did it and I don’t consider it fanservice (no one really asked for this, did they). So yeah, I can only hope that I’ll be able to swallow whatever excuse Bioware makes up.

I don't really find her sexy although aesthetically she does look pretty good for a android.

The difference in this case is that since there is a peace option, you're not saving any lives by taking a side. You're killing people who you could easily save. It's like the colonists on Feros. Is it self-defense if you kill them? Sure. Is it wrong to do it when you have an easy alternative? Yes.Ryzaki wrote...

You mean those two bombs that stopped hundreds of thousands if not millions of other people from dying?
They were necessary and for the greater good despite the tragedy they caused.

Edit: It could be argued they would leave anyway and Shepard could claim they overpowered him, but I could see some of the Cerberus crew actually staying for the trial. Shepard though could lie and say they overpowered him.
Read my edit. The only people who go with Shepard back to Earth were most likely EDI, Chakwas (if alive) and Joker. That's it. Everyone else went seperate ways.

*sighs* My first playthrough I ran out of bombs. (which is quite easy to do if you don't know what you're doing). No it's not an easy alternative. My Shep would've had to run up to people firing on him just to knock them unconcious. That would've been dumb. He killed them in self defense.
Not to mention the peace option is only there if you fulfill certain conditions to begin with.
And as for saying something's "wrong" I'm not touching that. YMMV and all that jazz.

Just because the video game developers are deigning their games on a not so mentally challenging level (remember when games were just simple fun? I do) doesn't mean that their fanbase immediately drops down to match that level.

That doesn't really conflict with my edit. I said they could have just left also. Since you said they actually do leave then why argue if you already know? Like I said I didn't really read a lot of the spoilers so I'm working on assumptions.

Wasn't your point about the alliance demanding they be handed over?
They kind of can't do anything (the alliance) if the Cerberus peeps are gone and Shep picks them up later once the Reaper invasion hits. That was my point.
Miranda and Jacob could work on the Normandy just fine. It's not like the Alliance is gonna try to do anything stupid once the Reapers start reaping. The "but the alliance-" train of thought has no merit. Otherwise EDI would also be at stake after she's revealed to be an AI.

Well, from what I understand, provided you have Tali and Legion alive and loyal (and I don't know why you wouldn't), and complete all sidequests, getting peace is fairly simple. I suppose if you try and fail, then having to wipe out one of the two groups is justified. But resigning yourself to it now seems a little premature.Ryzaki wrote...

Dunno, man. Genophage? Geth? Cerberus? Galactic politics? Hella deep. Their solutions may be childish and too much "press X to end world hunger," but the conflicts themselves are very mature and very relevant.Saphra Deden wrote...

I think the fanbase was already at that level. Most of it anyway.
The devs have come right out and said who they are appealing to.

The really funny thing is that she doesn't look that different compared to most female battle armors in Mass Effect when it comes to shapes.
