Post 1000.

No, I have nothing else to say. I just wanted to get the 1000th post.

You know, why does EDI have a bellybutton? It would make sense that the skin covering (which is now gone) would have it, but why would it be in the metal underneath? The only thing that would make less sense is if the body had nipples (and thank the lord it doesn't because then the rage would be over 9000!)

I vote that EDI adopts an Austrian accent. You know, just so we get the whole Terminator effect.

It looks more like a bolt to me.

Ah, that would make sense. I haven't looked at the picture in a while so I'm not certain.

that's what it looks like to me, it's probably one of the bolts that keep the chassis in place.

Now that I've looked at the picture again same.

Legion as a squaddie would have me not giving two figs about EDI.

The squad sure would have been tech-heavy then, though.

Then Tali needn't have been a squaddie. Or she and Legion could've been either/or.

Actually, what could have worked better than that would be to make both recruitable, not include EDI, and just said "You don't get any engineers" to the people who messed up the SM. Consequences and all that.

Even if not, stated now, you only look like an alarmist, at best, feminist at worse, rather than someone who's taking an intellectual look at the issue before it solidifies. EDI can be well written not just in spite, but because of her body. Instead of acting poorly against further progression on one of the main themes of this game (The issue of synethetic and organic life and the possibility for coexistence). Let's see if Bioware actually adds the subject of sexuality into the equasion well or not.

Okay, hold on a second. Thinking that women should have equal rights to men is a bad thing????? Either you're mixing up feminism with extremists acting in the name of feminism to raise women above men (i.e. NOT feminists  --the opposite, really), or you are a self-righteous ****. I hope it's the former.

Can't have that apparently. Woe betide anyone who screws up and not ends up with an engineer. The devs apparently feel the need to handhold players to make sure we all have a tech, biotic and soldier.

Well, at least they aren't taking the "replacements for the dead" route. That's something.

To be honest I'd rather have a replacement quarian/turian for tali/garrus than EDI.

Except for all the positive ones in this thread.

Well this certainly doesn't invalidate what I said as I was saying I have yet to see a positive comment on the other site.

But don't get your fanboy knickers in a knot, I'm sure someone will like it.

You haven't been looking very hard.

That'd be because I'm not looking for anything. I'm not desperately searching opinions that are supportive to some how validate Bioware's retarded decision nor am I actively looking for opinions like my own.

I simply saw a thread on the matter (on the Escapist) and saw that the comments were exclusively negative.

Jesus.

Indeed, would have been nice to have Gavorn as a replacement for Garrus or a Batarian/Vorcha over EDI.

Having both Gavorn and a vorcha would be an interesting combination. After all, it would know his tricks.

Thanks!

@Seboist: Agreed hard. I really wanted to get some decent Batarian perspective for once.

...So I am whole-heartedly agreeing with GodWood when he says EDI's body is ridiculous and with Seboist who would like to have a Batarian in ME3 squad.

Repent, the end is nigh.

Joker: EDI....what are you doing?

EDI: Joker....are you alive?

Joker: Um.....yes

EDI: Show me....

They then kiss.

*meanwhile in another part of the ship*

Femshep: O my head....it hurts...

Tali: What is it, are you ok?

Femshep: I just felt a great disturbance.....as if a million Joker/Myself fans cried out in agony.....and then were suddenly silenced. I fear something horrible has happened.

*legion looks at EDI*

legion: we would wish to pose a question.

EDI: yes legion?

legion: why the need for those frontal portrusions, they are not an efficient design.

EDI: this incites interesting reactions from my colleagues, particulary jeff.

legion: ...*head flashes and head plates tilt a bit*

Yeah. Its observations like that, that sort of force me to roll my shoulders and stop arguing. Because if you can't get your definitions straight, and if someone believes that being a feminist is insulting, debating with that person is just pointless. Logic is thrown out the window for all intents and purposes.

But I digress.

Regardless, my point being about EDI's bellybutton - bolt aesthetic that it maybe... its still weird that its even there. It just furthers the impression she's 'nude', in a sense.

Im happy to see the Normandy SR2 is in Alliance colors :)

I can't wait to see the changes the Alliance made in the inside of the ship.
I hope we can customize not only Shepard's armor but Kaidan's/Ashley's, James', and Garrus' armor.

When BW started releasing details on ME3, about how they had gone back and implemented a lot of the things from ME1 that they removed for ME2, about how the combat was going to be flipping-awesome, about how the squadmates would actually have character development, I was completely psyched.
But with all the recent news they've been putting out, that excitement has degraded to extreme nervousness.
EDI being a (permanent?) squadmate, rather than someone like Miranda, or Wrex, or Legion, just seems really, -really-, dumb.
