Love 'em or hate 'em, a batarian squadmate can bring a lot to the table.   I want to hear why you would think it would be a good or bad idea to have one as a squadmate.  keep it civil!:)

It would bring great conflict with Shepard, since most of her backgrounds have something to do with batarians:

Spacer - Mothers friend went nuts after witnessing colony raid by them
Ruthless - Killed dozens of them on Torfan even if they surrendered
Colonist - Your whole family was killed by them
War Hero - You fought against them in Skyllian Blitz

Any: You destroyed a mass relay and through that a batarian colony to slow down the reapers.

A batarian squadmate fighting beside you against common enemy would also eventually show the other side of the coin for this race that so far has been portrayed mostly negatively.

Plus together with certain other character you could form "Team Four eyes"

Also whats with all that code crap in your post? clear it please.

batarian dlc would be good, think about it:

- New Squadmate: the batarian
- New Location: Khar'Shan (whats left of it anyways), something with Leviathan of Dis
- Unlock for MP: Batarian race option

...since there has not been much activity...maybe batarian squadmate isn't so exciting afterall? haha

I do want to say that I agree with armass that a batarian dlc character would be great but more in depth than Zaeed or even Kasumi.

I wouldn't mind, I'm not really against or in favor of Batarians either way. They've had a lot of bad attention though, so a Batarian that didn't act like a complete ass would be nice for a change.
That Blue Suns sergeant could have been a nice addition maybe, but he kind of got electrified when I jammed that powertool in his back..

If there was a Batarian squadmate I rather have him be witty and rude as hell than nice and kind.

Hey you never know I'm sure Bioware will have some secrets up there sleaves with Mass Effect 3 so there could very well be a chance that we'll see a Batarian squadmate temporaraly or permanant. It could help us get a bigger insight into the Mass Effect universe as it could give us a deeper insight into batarian culture and maybe change our views on them since they had bad publicity in the previous games. Plus having a Batarian squadmate could help forge an alliance with the Batarians or the Terminus systems to aid with the war against the reapers as it will show that citadel races and batarians can cooperate.

If there was to be a Batarian squadmate it would be awsome to have a smooth talking, wisecracking merchant or ex con who broke away from the merc bands or slaver bands to help shepard against the reaper fleet. maybe you could recruit him from prision on the citadel as he could have been a terrorist or something and he (or she?) wants to reedem themselves so you choose to break them out of jail but this could have bad consequences with council races perhaps to maybe add some tough decisions for the player.
Anyway thats just my idea anyway can't wait mor ME3!!!

The most I can see would be Charn from Bring Down The Sky, or maybe the sick batarian from Mordin's recruitment.

these events were not done by batarians only, batarians make up a mojority of pirates. which every species in the galaxy has pirates. even the skylian blitz has lead by a human pirate -.-

Seeing as we just blew up a batarian system and killed 30,000 of them in the process, my guess is no.

It would be cool.

But judging from the leak, I don't believe so.

I'd like one as DLC. Either as a vanguard since we don't have one or as a Sentinel in case we killed Kaiden.

If Vanguard

Flash Grenade
Charge
Shredder Ammo
Pull

If Sentinel
EMP Grenade (works like overload but as a grenade with an enlarged radius)
Neural Shock
Throw
Pull

Or if we get a second infiltrator in case Garrus died
Hammerhead Rounds (throw as an ammo power)
Damping (explodes and then shuts down active powers for up to ten seconds. Can be upgraded to freeze an enemy in place)
Tactical Cloak (same as Kasumi had)
Incinerate

I've wanted to have a Batarian squadie for awhile now. I know it won't happen, but it would be a good chance to get and know them as a species with many layers, kinda like Legion and the Geth.
Sarg. Kathka from Omega would be cool, all I did was zap him with something I don't know if it was fatal, he could have lived

you assume all the batarians were in one place?  even the ones from Omega where killed?  you are a terrible guesser.  Posted Image  but I would agree that it would be "no" for other reasons than what you gave.

Sadly it isn't going to happen. If there was a Batarian squadmate, I'm sure with all the leaks we would have heard about it by now.

But I do agree with those that think a Batarian squadmate would have been cool. Just the back and forth banter between Shepard and the Batarian would have been awesome. In the end they'd either end up having a gruding respect for each other, or totally despise the other. Either way it would be fun.

A bad idea...simply for the fact that there are too many new squad mates already, it would have been nice I reckon if BW more concentrated on expanding the stories of those we have already without lining up a whole new extra cast.

From the leak tidbits I have seen, BioWare did the most exemplary job possible with several of the ME2-introduced squadmates not on your permanent roster in ME3.
