I love the idea. Great for new players.
I played Mass Effect 1 on PC and Mass Effect 2 on PS3. I would have played ME 1 on PS3 if it was on that console. All I had to do was to remember the decisions I made in Mass Effect 2's Genesis and retrospectively play Mass Effect 1. The Shepards looked very different (since I was unable to accurately replicate their appearance on character creator). My explanation for them looking different. Simple, Shepard's appearance changed during the Lazarus project.

It just came to my attaention that apparently Kirrahe is a large variable and his survival is key to gaining support from the salarians. I would be grateful if Bioware would give him back to me, since as I've said, I saved Kirrahe in my PC file, so why not in my PS3 file.
I never managed to save Kirrahe

For some reason in the PS3 version he automattically dies. Since he turns out to be important, this is extremely unfair for PS3 users.Abraham_uk wrote...

I never managed to save Kirrahe. I don't know how to input that into the game. If he is alive by default in Mass Effect 3 I'll have to make up some ridiculuous explanation of how he came back to life (maybe Cerberus had something to do with it).

Well that means that I have no incentive to save him in ME 1. Also if I did save him in ME 1 I have to come up with this explanation. Ashley killed Kirrahe. Damned racist!!!!!!

the mass effect 2 comic was very poor in my opinion

Yeah, it didn't provide much choice wise for old players or story wise for new players. My idea for ME3 doesn't involve a special comic. Just have a brief written description of the scenarion, then a yes or no check box. Very simple. Also Kirrahe will be important in ME3 as I said, so it would be nice to have him back.Calibrationmaster wrote...

I have to admit, there can be no substitute to playing Mass Effect 1. It's not as amazing as Mass Effect 2, but if you haven't played it, shame on you!!!!!
Genesis was okay. It covered 2/3 of the main points of the story. It did however need some serious calibrations.

The Asari from Therum.
The Racni Queen
Captain "Hold The Line" Kirrahe
The Asari I nearly killed on Virmire (what's her name)
What are the consequences of your dealings with Administrator Anoleis?
As for Conrad Verner. I had an awesome idea for a Verner quest.
Here goes.
Circumstances have led Shepard to be separated from his squadmates. He has no means of contacting the Normandy and he is stuck on a strategically important planet. He needs to activate the three defence towers to operate the large cannon (that was designed to lure and destroy reapers).
The reason Shepard can't contact the Normandy is because the Reaper in question is blocking his communications. So he must destroy the Reaper first.
In comes Conrad Verner who offers to help out Comander Shepard, but mostly ends up getting in the way and providing comic relief. But it is when he surprisingly shows skill at re-activating the defence towers (which Shepard was struggling with) that he shows his worth. Worth not as a soldier, but as an engineer.
Shepard destroys the Reaper (this is a small Reaper by the way) and manages to make it to the Normandy, thanks to Conrad Verner.

And if nothing else, then at least a mission exclusive for different origin stories (a la ME1) or service histories. Pretty please?

This is what I have been saying for months!!!!!!!
I want to see the Origins of Comander Shepard.
If Bioware doesn't deliver, can you recomend any decent fan fiction on the following?
Colonist
Earthbound
Spacer
Ruthless
War Hero
Sole Survivor
Going back to topic, why wasn't Shepard's history covered by Genesis?

* Shooting Shiala instead of sparing her on Feros.
* Not helping the friend of spacer Shepard's mom.
* Not helping Gianna take down the Administrator on Noveria.
* Not taking the extra five minutes to help Captain Kirrahe and his squad survive.
* Not sparing Helena Blake.
Even when it should be clear that my Shepard is paragon and wouldn't make those choices the game assumes you went renegade.
I get why Bioware did it. They wanted the game to be accessible to new players who never touched ME1, but my guess is more copies of the game sold to preexisting Mass Effect fans who just wanted to play on their preferred platform than sold to completely new fans.
I'm actually very curious to know if the missing content is actually in the game but locked out. If someone could take apart the code, would Conrad Verner and Helena Blake and Shiala be there on the disc, just missing the right flag being tripped? Or are they absent entirely.

I imagine that there still on the disc, since this was a quick port and not a remaek of the game. And yes, I also prefer PS3, so thats why I picked up the PS3 version.thoththeblack wrote...
I actually played ME1 and ME2 on my 360. When ME2 came out on the PS3, I bought that because the PS3 is my preferred console for a variety of reasons. I was sad to learn about how renegade Shepard seemed to be the default for most choices. Such as:
* Shooting Shiala instead of sparing her on Feros.
* Not helping the friend of spacer Shepard's mom.
* Not helping Gianna take down the Administrator on Noveria.
* Not taking the extra five minutes to help Captain Kirrahe and his squad survive.

You greedy PS-b*st*rds should be happy.

I'm happy with Mass Effect 2. Very happy. Mass Effect 2 was an amazing game with great ideas.
Doesn't stop me from pointing out areas where it can improve.
Uncharted 1 & 2 is amazing by the way. Great fun cinematic experience. Haven't played Uncharted 3 so don't spoil it for me.
Furthermore if I feel that a game was terrible, I don't even bother giving feedback.

Indeed. Mass Effect 2 is an awesome game. The PS3 version still had that awesomeness but it had bugs and a limited comic to create old choices. I would be happy if those were both fixed in the sequel. It would make alot of gamers happy, which is good for business. Also, choices were not part of the microsoft deal, and they can't do anything about it. ME3 is the most anticipated game of 2012, Microsoft wouldn't dare to screw Bioware.Abraham_uk wrote...

Also it's not greedy to be expecting more when you're paying more.
