When asked this question, I usually give the same 3 titles: Metropolis, Brick, Sunshine. Most people haven't heard of these movies, so it makes me seem more obscure. I also think it shows a fairly accurate and wide variety in my tastes. I've been thinking about adding "Kingdom of Heaven" to this list...as people might be a LITTLE more familiar with it. It would also cause those who have seen it to ask "Theatrical cut or Directors?"

Truth, however, is I don't really have a favorite...or even a short list. I keep a database of movies I own on DVD or blu-ray...which is now over 500 movies. There are definitely ones in there that I like more than others, and a few that I haven't even seen...whether through indifference (American Graffiti was purchased with it's sequel...) or through...well...laziness (The Debt, Next Three Days.)

With so many movies, however...it's often difficult to pick something to watch.

If you mean the Disany version I will pull my hair out.  My nephew watches that movie over and over and over!  Drives me nuts.

**** I forgot to add the new Star Trek movie to the list, wasn't a fan of past ST movies, although I am a longtime viewer of the TV series, but the new movie really was enjoyable.

Wait a minute.

Hold the phone.

How...how did I forget THIS movie? My siblings would slap me across the face for not listing this crowning jewel of...something.
