1) If DLC is to be released, do bioware points have to be bought through origin or can they be bought through this site like before.
2) Somewhat related point, why are the charges for bioware points different region to region? While games themselves are sold retail so there are market forces which dictate prices (another issue which is not justified in my opinion), the same is not true for DLC which is sold only online and only directly by your company. As you are the monopoly in selling bioware points on the PC: is the 30% difference in price point between some regions really justified - and where is this extra money going?
I hasten to add before the tax excuse is brought up, that the tax needs to be shown explicitly by the law in many countries, and in mine the flat 10% rate does not the 30% difference in price.
By the by, does anybody know what 800 bioware points costs in the UK or the EU, just for comparison's sake.

Bioware Points were I think mean't to standardise prices across all regions if they do not (I don't know since only buy in my own region) if they do not then then they simply do not work as intented (imho). But as far as I know that is/was the intention.
The biggest problem is they do not offer a 100pt or 200pt selection. A benefit would be no points but just pay exact amount for exact DLC, especially if the whole point being to standardise prices if is not true then should be dropped and replaced for pay exact amount for thing you want.
As someone who recently bought many Bioware Points I can answer the latter question and live in UK.
Bioware Points do fluctuate in prices from time to time, for example few weeks back 1200 points were about £4.33 but now they gone up slightly to:
1600pts = £12.38
1200pts = £6.19
800pts = £6.19
560pts = £4.33
400pts = £3.10
Maybe someone in another country can list how much costs for them since I can only list for my own which is UK.

I've never known BioWare points to change their price in the US, though granted I could have missed a sale or something if they ever had one that applied to points.
You are paying slightly less than us but close enough really.
1600 pts = $20
800 pts = $10
But the odd thing is BioWare points only charge tax part of the time, I have no idea why but many people (including myself) have noticed on checkout that sometimes tax is added and other times it's just the exact cost of the points.

It's a paranoia that it scans outside of its folder, essentially gaining personal information. That feature has since been removed, making it no more intrusive than Steam. However, its EULA hints that it can switch back to the intrusive state without consumer warning.The Harmonizer wrote...

I personally don't think Origin's poking around where it shouldn't any more or that EA are going to run off with my data going mwaaa ha ha ha! all the way, my objection is that EA are limiting my ability to chose what I do and don't install on my PC by making Origin mandatory for ME3 (aka I'm old, grumpy and stubborn) - the other main arguments against it are:The Harmonizer wrote...

1) Privacy based
Origin does not allow you to opt out of data collection and EA grant themselves the right to collect data via Origin in the EULA, now if people don't have an issue with that then fine, but why isn't it a choice? Steam gives it's users an opt-out option and EA are claiming Origin's the same sort of thing.
2) Rights based
Okay the Forum = Game ban thing is down to a technical issue, but it's a reminder that EA want you to pay them for something they reserve the right to remove access to on a whim; it also proves that EA's customer service is a bit shambolic. Given their past behaviour I'm certainly not willing to trust EA with the keys to my game collection - are you?
3) EA using what boils down to a form of blackmail to get people to use it's client
EA is counting on gamers being so eager to play ME3 that they'll ignore the fact they don't need/want Origin (or it's no opt-out data harvesting) just to finish their Shepard's stories.
On a semi related sidenote:
The ECA are looking into Origin and the EULA - this is an organisation that stuck up for BioWare when Fox ran their 'won't someone think of the children' campaign when ME1 came out, not some kind of mouthpiece for shouty gamers.
The Information Commissioner's Office in the UK has also confirmed there's enough of an issue here with Origin, the EULA and the '98 Data Protection Act that it needs investigating; this is a legitimate government agency with a full grasp of the law, not a group of gamers.
When you have agencies whose job it is to protect consumer rights looking at Origin and the EULA and thinking there's something not right, then maybe people need to consider that there might just be a problem here.
If none of the above bothers you then cool - everyone has different priorities

When did this happen and can I have a quote?

It was covered by Dmex and others in the previous thread, not sure exactly where, was also covered in the EA discussion in Germany after everything kicked off with BF3 - whole thing was down to sloppy coding that was later corrected.IliyaMoroumetz wrote...

Again best for people to read this (I've posted it a few times)
tos.ea.com/legalapp/WEBPRIVACY/US/en/PC/
Also has a contact link to allow someone to opt out of Data collection for people that are still concerned about that.
