That's the reason it was boring, sure enough. The reason that it was annoying was its own design, however, not the design of the uncharted worlds, as some claim.XDMMX wrote...
The reason the Mako got boring was because of the lame uncharted worlds.
If the uncharted worlds were even less bumpy, they'd become even more boring, if you can imagine that.

Really though, all the Mako needed to be less annoying was a set of rear-mounted thrusters. Just like the jumpjets, except mounted on the back. So when you're slogging up a practically vertical cliff face, and every inch you travel slows you down even more, activate the jets, shoot forward with a boost of speed, and bam, you're over the top. Then the Mako would've been the indesputible king of lame randomly generated Uncharted Worlds.Phaedon wrote...

Mako > Hammerhead.
Hammerhead was alot more agile than the Mako however it was weaker... that said I liked both and think the Hammerhead was a pretty cool step forward for Humanity.

So I hope a new vehicle could be a beefed up version of the hammerhead with mako weapons and armour so it would be slower than hammerhead but with better guns and better turning than the Mako

BW (to me) keeps saying ME3=(ME1+ME2)/2 You know getting the middle ground (by keeping the best) between the 2

Doesn't really need to be slower... what with mass reducing fields and all

If you want the Mako to be agile, it will be bumpy.silentspec111 wrote...
@Phaedon> ok agreed...bt still the solution to that is not removing the MAKO completely....like they did in ME2.....surely there must be a way to make it less "annoying"... atleast it'll better than that silly mining game, that was more boring than the MAKO in ME1....btw is that coming back do any of you know???
The Hammerhead can be improved, the Mako, not really.
Imo.

I hope the Mako comes back, Personally, i was always thought it was better than the Hammerhead and all the complaints of it being boring were not the fault of the MAKO but the boring uncharted world design itself.
I agree with you, Mako is great, but level design for it not so much...

The issue with the Mako wasn't the Mako nor the Terrain.
It was the issue that the terrain had no limiting factors in where you could drive. There were gradual slopes and ways around to access every point on the maps - but you were not stopped from trying to get to places by attempting to climb a vertical wall.
Most games stop you with invisible walls or other limiting factors, the maps gave you total freedom in the Mako. As such, people decided to try a straight line to their goal. Getting frustrated and blaming everything but their need to scale things never intended to be scaled.

Actually, the reason I hated the mako was because combat boiled down to: fire main gun--->spam machine gun--->jump over missile over and over and over and over and over.
