Everyone hate vehicles or something in Mass Effect? THAT WHAT MADE MASS EFFECT. If you don't like it go play another damn game, or deal with it. VEHICLES should make a RETURN BIOWARE!!

I thought being able to make your character and his personality made Mass Effect, not sh**ty, boring and unsatisfying driving.

Vehicle exploration may not be only reason for Mass Effect, but it's part of the equation.

I don't suppose they'd do the logical thing and give us the happy medium of a vehicle with the firepower and defense of the Mako and the maneuverability of the Hammerhead?

Actually I would prefer both vehicles in the game. A happy medium would be nice, but i'd like both of them if possible. Mako for heavy combat, featherhead (nice nickname) for exploration or special ops.

A choice of the two can work just as well yeah.

Personally, I think they would just need to improve the shields on the Hammerhead and upgrade its weaponry. A vehicle capable of hovering or actual flight just makes more sense to me for exploration or troop transport. It allows you to remove terrain from the equation.

Rumors have it( SPOLS!!!!) that the hammer head is coming back

Well, of course it is. The devs wouldn't want to admit that something from ME1 was actually better than its ME2 replacement.

They're doing it for the squadmates. We're getting Liara (ME1) over Samara (her ME2 replacement), for example.

Folks, your opinions of the Mako and Featherhead are just that, opinions. Same as mine.

No one's right, no one's wrong. Lets refrain from stating our opinions as if they were facts.

I'm one of those who preferred the Mako over the Featherhead. That's just me.

Many share my opinion, many don't.

But lets be honest about it. Its all preference.

I never had a problem with the Mako on either the 360 or PC, using the map easily showed the routes you should take that would avoid going over the worst of the terrain. I actually enjoyed driving it around, heading to a high point and then leaping off.

The Hammerhead was okay as a vehicle but the big issue for me was that it never felt like a real part of the game, it felt like it was added as an afterthought.

How come? The Hammerhead is already invincible anyway as long as the driver isn't an idiot. Park where the enemies can't hit you but you can hit them, and keep firing until everyone's dead.

The Hammerhead's already too damn easy; upgrades would make it worse.

Probably because it was. At least, it was Bioware's way of trying out a new spin on vehicles, and goodness did it backfire in their faces.

The LoTSB aircar though. That was a winner.

This is a viewpoint I can (mostly) subscribe to, though I prefer the Hammerhead overall.

I should point out however that the Hammerhead WAS an afterthought. It was added in dlc and mostly used as a testing ground for future vehicles implementations.

EDIT: Ninja'd! Damn meddling princes. :crying:

Am I the only person who hated the way the ME series has done vehicle combat in general? I'd rather not have either

Let's see...

The Mako can resists 3 or 4 siege lasers.
A single geth trooper destroys the Hammerhead in 3 sec.

And ME2 gameplay doesn't help at all either. In ME2 it's almost imposible for enemies to miss you. Bullets and siege lasers can turn in middle air and follow you around.

So stay someplace where they can't target you in the first place.

Of course, the problem when you play the Hammerhead this way is that it's boring. I personally prefer to get shot at a bit just so I have something to do.

FACE.

Now then, (hahaha)

Honestly I got bored of the Featherhead, just staying out of range and firing endlessly.

At least with the Mako I had to constantly move, I had to use the jets to duck and dodge, and enemies could still fire at me from far away.

Thats part of why the Featherhead didn't give me the funsies that The Mako did.

But the Aircar.

That Aircar was mint.

I disagree phaedon. There is always something to improve, and even then the mako only had trouble due to wonky physics and the random bumpmapping of ME1 worlds.

I believe that if you had trouble with bumpmapping, you had already rode a hill too far high than you should. I don't actually see what was wrong about the physics themselves.

In any case I prefer the mako over the hammerhead because it feels much more like an actual... Military vehicle than the hammerhead ever will. I remember watching a ME3 trailer recently, and seeing a few battles in action. All the vehicles looked built for battle, heavy (save for the fighters) and when I look at the hammerhead... I remember how it felt it really made me miss the mako.

That's valid. And you are referring to the krogan trucks?

If you play LotSB enough, you tend to recognize that it is rather difficult to manuever as well.

The Mako´s controls were horrible.
I can´t imagine how many times a well planned tactical assault on an outpost ended up in a the Mako turned upside down with enemies grilling it.
