Anybody who likes the mako doesn't remember how **** the steering controls were, how annoying some of the planets we're when trying to climb them wonderful 85 degree cliffs to get around, and how easy it was for the thing to flip out when you made a slightly-off landing.

Playing ME1 now.  Just did a UNC mission (UNC: Privateers).  While on the planet, drove around and mined some minerals, evaded a geth trap, killed a thresher maw (died once when he popped up right under me) and found a turian insignia.

Loved every minute of it.

Ditto I am currently replaying through ME1 now too and I still love the way the Mako feels and handles as a ground based vehicle. I always drive around steep cliffs and always use maps to know exactly where minerals and such are (if) I wish to go get them. The rest of the time I just enjoy driving around in it running weird little alien sheep over or geth and at same time admiring the scenery of worlds.

I'd grab my shovel a.k.a. "entrenching tool" and dug that "valuable piece of equipment" out.
It's not disposable, it's family.

I would definitely head back to Alchera and dig out the original Mako if I had to.

Plus, people seem to forget that the Reapers would've won if it weren't for The Mako.

The Mako's what got us through the Conduit safely. Had we gone on foot we'd of died horrendously.

That AND it took out two more geth before it finally rested.

The Mako's a champ.

Can't we have both? The Hangar's big enough to store a HammerHead and Kodiak on the clamps on the roof, while Vega, the Mako, and Sparky chill on the deck. It's not like we can't retrieve the intact IFV from Alchera, anyway.
Simply give us a choice between the vehicles when starting a vehicle mission, like squadmates.

Apparently whoever designed the Mako never read up on the advantages of being able to acheive good main gun depression. Nothing sucked more than being on a slight angle and not being able to hit a bunch of geth because the turret was built by the lowest bidder!

The Mako's one of the reasons everyone's alive today to fight the Reapers.

God forbid the Featherhead had to go through the Conduit, it probably would've been torn apart.

Actually, it wouldn't of even been able to make it to the Conduit because the geth would've destroyed it before it could get to it.

Hmm... interesting thought though.

I wonder if the Hammerhead could have at least speed through to just get smashed up on the other side of the Conduit?

I hate how we haven't heard anything about this either way. If it's not coming back, I want to know so I can move on.

I say bring the mako back, tone down the hydraulics, get rid off jump thruster ( only use them as landing aid) and make a better planet level design.

The jump thrust was an integral part of how the Mako operated.

That'd be like taking away Soldier Shepard's weapons.

If there aren't any vehicle driving parts within the main story, then I'm going to be a little disappointed.

Not because the Hammerhead is just so much fun to drive, but because ME2 felt really small due to the lack of exploration. At least vehicles would help bring a little bit of that sense of scale back.

Not really, the only reason jump jets were added was because of the extremely rough terrain on unexplored planets.

I say keep the thrusters. They are part of what made The Mako what it was.

That's why I also said better planet design. They should use mako for more level terrained planets and the hammerhead for rough planets (ie bring back both vehicles)

The reason the Mako got boring was because of the lame uncharted worlds.

This.

The Mako was a good concept that was poorly executed. The controls could have used some tweaking, and it needed some more interesting (and less mountainous) worlds to explore. Both would have been relatively easy fixes for Mass Effect 2. Instead the nerd rage was so overblown that the Mako was scrapped all together. Good job BSN!

Now we have the inferior and boring Hammerhead.

Correction-Featherhead.

I want my Mako back. I likely won't get it back, but I'll pine for it.

Let's level with each other here. Neither the Mako nor the Hammerhead were fun. At all. In any way. To be honest the Mako had a lot of potential, but they made it clunky, slow, and just entirely incapable of fun.

Hey, new to bsn.

So...anyone ever notice how small the Mako was? Makes me wonder how Shep, and two more passengers could fit.
But I still love the Mako over the Hammerhead.
