Elves are freakin awesome. Their ears are so pointy. Plus in the original dragon age origins it didnt matter what armor they wore they always looked like bamf's in them

 If origins come back ( with elves as well ) in DA3, I hope they will allow like Skyrim, something about size muscles, beards, hawk hair, as option, etc in the customization.

People can complain about DA2 elves, because they look bad and alien. I'd take at any day, skyrim's design over DA2's design. The design in Skyrim, accurate and different, is simply beautiful.

I don't need to have elves beautiful, and I find besides many beautiful with their own aspect. I am glad they broke the cliche about elves, poor pretty things effeminate, poor victims.

Do I hate elves? No. Do I hate DA Elves? No.

Am I disappointed that the Elves don't really seem to feel like Elves for me? Yes.

Also, Dwarves are definitely better.

Bioware won't allow for beards to be an option because they've already established that Elves can't grow beards.

And I don't want Elves to grow beards anyway. They'd look too funny with a beard.

Actually, the only portrayal of Elves I've come across that I like is in the Lord of the Rings. In both Dragon Age and The Elder Scrolls, almost every Elf I come across hates me or has prejudice, which gets really annoying after a while. Also, while not a problem with DA:O, DA2's and Skyrim's Elves have ears sharp enough to stab someone with! What was the point of stretching the ears between Origins and DA2?
The only other Elves I can think of are the ones in the Inheritence Cycle, and I found them insanely standoff-ish and, again, prejudiced.

I love elves. I like the Dalish, though they remind me too much of the Scoia'tael. Drow for the spell resistance. DA2 elves are pitiful, both in looks and personality.

Dalish + Scoia'tael + Drow = angry elves. What's not to love about them? Head up in the clouds elves are not that interesting. Best elf I've met in a game is Yeavinn from The Witcher.

What reason could I possibly have to "hate" elves, in Dragon Age or otherwise? I'm not a super elf fan like some people, I just think of them as any other race. I find certain ones attractive (from various fandoms), and other ones I wouldn't give a second glance at, just like any other individual. I feel the same way about orcs. Although, with the less uh... traditionally attractive races it's mainly about personality for me. For example, one of my favorite characters in the Warcraft lore is the orc Thrall, but after not only interacting with him in the games, but reading several novels with him featured, I've come to know him as a person. I could say the same of any character from a particular race.

Regarding the Thedas elves specifically, I find myself frequently frustrated by both groups that we encounter in any given game. I dislike seeing the city elves being downtrodden and discriminated against. I also greatly dislike being treated with suspicion and disdain by the Dalish elves simply because I'm not one of them -- although I can understand (to a point) the reason for this -- it gets a bit old after a while.

Elves are suppose to be beautiful and magical being. So how can I hate beautiful things? The problem is elves are not depicted beautiful enough ( in video games ). Instead, they look too skinny and weird. I thought I have a poor taste but It's strange that I tend to agree with the judges at beauty contest like Miss Universe 2008. 2009 etc.. Yet in video games I can't find anything like Miss Universe with pointy ears and silky smooth skin. I'm not sure whether it's my eyes problem or it's video games design problem.

The Skyrim elves are beautiful...?! I think that's the first time I've ever heard anyone say that, lol. I think they're hideous, haha.

Man, people, dude elves don't have beards, they look lithe and feminine, that's just what elves are! I'd cry if DA gave male elves beards, or any other facial hair. And they are supposed to be pretty (still don't see why so many people are mad about the DA2 elves, but won't get into that ****** - Merrill and Fenris are gorgeous to me, anyway)! Besides, you can be pretty and still be a man, you know.

I'm an elf girl. Give me an elf anyday. Except if it's a Skyrim elf, haha...

I think it´s game developers trying to distance themselves from traditional picture of "immortal/higher/extra beautiful" elves. So they are trying to treat them as any other race, just with slim body, pointy ears and different eyes, which ends up with damn ugly elves

Exactly! I spent over an hour and applied several mods, just to create decent High elf.
