So I already encountered the not having an activation orb bug and beat it by using the console.  Then when I use it nothing happens.  Then I notice...there is no obelisk and therefore nothing for the beam to come out of.  The academy has got to be one of the most bug-ridden, google-required disasters I have ever encountered in gaming.  Since I assume there is no way to use the console to put an obelisk on the map, I guess I am screwed.  Am I screwed?  Confirmation would be appreciated.

While it probably is possible to fix IG with custom scripts, I strongly suggest just consoling in an Incomplete Soul and awarding the party 2000 xp.

I'm curious, do you keep your hardrive degragmented? My hypothesis is that if the game can't get access to a resource fast enough it just forgoes trying (hence the missing obelisk).

kevL you are a nerd hero. I really only expected to get troll responses. I'm a bit short on internetz right now but you can have all I got.

I am pretty anal about defragging, but I will try one and see if it helps. My last defrag was probably about 5 days ago.

hm. nah i was seeing/thinking more like a half year or so (things get pretty messy)
