I'm a female that plays male Shepard

1. Better voice acting
2. I like MShep's story more
3. Yay eyecandy! Yes C this means sneaking glances at dude Shep's ass.
4. I feel more invested in the game with a male voiced protag than a female one.

That's it for now.

I like to play female Shepard from time to time, because I like her voice more, and because she looks better than male Shepard.

I play MaleShep and FemShep. It's easy for me because I never treat Shepard (or the Warden, Hawke, etc) as an extension of myself - they're all characters that I create with their own history, personality, and opinions, and I enjoy creating a lot of different characters. I've never preferred playing one gender over the other. It's just great to have more options.

Bull****. You think that just anyone can win oscar awards for acting? You don't think that acting school has logical and time tested rating systems in place? You wouldn't call these things subjective if you had a better than low level understanding of what makes good actors good.

How clever. You know what else, my self-righteous mate?
Oscar awards are voted on. People with subjective opinions on what makes actors good decide on who the best actor is. You'd know that if you had a better than low level understanding of how the world works.Image IPB

Everything is partly subjective including acting.
McDonalds taste better than 5 star fine dining.

Twilight is a masterpiece

CoDMW3 is the best competitive game ever.

Justin Bieber is a god.

Michael Bay is a better Director than hitchcock.

Obviously some people do think like this, but that doesn't mean that they don't have **** taste.

Male here. In linear games I don't mind female characters, but in RPGs I always play male. I try to build the character as an extension of myself in the game's world, and I just can't identify with a female. Besides in the Mass Effect series the default male Shep actually looks human where customized male and default/customized female have that unfortunate Unreal engine plastic look.

I have eaten at some terrible tasting 5 star establishments.

Twilights ratings would suggest so.

MW3 is certainly the most populated competitive game ever.

Millions of young women think so.

Yes -hitchcock no longer has the ability to direct. Bay wins by default.

Out of 15 sheps I have 3 male sheps. My "Main" (the shep that is based off of me, ie looks like me my morality ect) is obviously male. The other two are based off of chris redfield (soldier) and geordi laforge (engineer).

My 12 other sheps are based off of other video game chars or other chars in anime or what have you.

For example, Estelle, my vanguard shep, wears pink and white armor. Based off of Estelle from Tales of Vesperia. Super paragon. I even have a femshep that is based off of Mallory from mighty ducks (the cool thing is, jen hale voiced mallory in the cartoon show, and it EXACTLY like femshep's voice).

So why do I have more femsheps? I don't know really. I just...do? As long as I have my main shep, I dont care.

Yes (5 star fine dining is terrible), yes (Twilight is a masterpiece of drama), no (Professional sports are much more competitive), no (Bieber is never mentioned in the Holy Q'uran, so he's not a god), maybe (haven't heard of either one).
You see now how opinions work? No? Yes? Maybe?

You know what I just thought of...I have no male sheps that are renegade, but I have some female sheps that are. It is easier for me to be full renegade on a female shep than male.

For example, I chose morinith on a couple of my femsheps. Curious.

Who says they have <expletive> taste? You? Who are you? Solomon Stonebloom? Burch-Smith? Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Maneskaw?
Convince me that your opinion means something and I'll pay heed to it, like the others that I mentioned have done for their respective fields.

LMAO, you remembered? xD
Nah, I don't mind his ass, but I don't play as man Shep JUST to look at his ass.. Image IPB

I am a gamer of the female persuasion, and I play both male and female Shepards. They each bring something different to the table--Hale and Meer read the lines differently, plus there are romantic arcs you can only get as either a man or woman (god damn it straight people).

I do, however, feel more comfortable as FemShep. I like Hale's portrayal better, I love a strong female protagonist, and I feel more comfortable playing as my own gender. Plus, FemShep gets Garrus.

Not to say I don't enjoy my BroShep playthroughs, but they always feel a little more like characters I'm just ordering around and a little less like an extension of myself.

It's okay to have opinions, but I'm just saying that calling things a matter of preference just isn't that simple.

Ah, but it is that simple. If there's no empirical fact to guide a decision, then it becomes a matter of opinion. I can say that humans have 58 chromosomes, but I'm wrong, because we have 46. That can be proven. That has been proven. No matter how valid my right to have an opinion is, it's still factually wrong.

If you are a male, then I guess it's because MaleShep feels closer to home, so you tend to make them as you... so a FemShep, it's easier to alienate. :alien:

I'm female, and my "canon" Shepard is female. But I have a manshep, and I've got no problem playing male characters.

In fact, to me it seems stranger to make a character based on myself than it is to play Manshepard. Obviously any character I make is going to have me in it, but I've never really made a character that looked like me and then made choices I'd make. I don't know, that'd freak me out. But it seems a lot of people do that. So it must be just a totally different mindset.

I'm not really fond of the female Shepard's voice direction, so I generally stick with male Shepard.
Not that male Shepard's voice is much better, though.
Edit: Also, I like playing Shepard as myself.
