McDonalds taste better than 5 star fine dining.
Twilight is a masterpiece
CoDMW3 is the best competitive game ever.
Justin Bieber is a god.
Michael Bay is a better Director than hitchcock.
I have eaten at some terrible tasting 5 star establishments.
Twilights ratings would suggest so.
MW3 is certainly the most populated competitive game ever.
Millions of young women think so.
Yes -hitchcock no longer has the ability to direct. Bay wins by default.
It's okay to have opinions, but I'm just saying that calling things a matter of preference just isn't that simple.
So it isn't a matter of preference as to which VA a person prefers?
Bleh. Whatever
Ok, lets start over... you prefer femshep. That is your opinion. You say you prefer her because of been more emotional than male shep and that's a good reason, but why do you think more emotion is better for shepard than less?

I got to landing on Eden Prime before I threw my hands up. Voice bothered me that much.
But I love love love stoic characters and Meer is stoic at the perfect times.
And his deadpan Renegade is hilarious. Plus I can flow easily from Renegade to Paragon /plays paragades and renegons mostly

This is what I said before you apparently got all upset about my low level understanding of acting.
"a). Subjective. Plenty of people don't like Hale's more emotional style (I personally think both VA's are very good)"

I later found out on YouTube that I didn't really like ManShep's voice at all. He sounded like a sort of really cliched sci-fi action hero dudebro thing--that just doesn't appeal to me, personally. I thought FemShep's voice was more believable and even likable. Even the somewhat silly look I made for my FemShep had grown on me, too. Eventually, I became too invested in my character to try anything else.
Plus, you can't romance Garrus as ManShep in ME2, and I insist on romancing Garrus in every ME2 playthrough I ever do.

Not that I disagree about Hale's VA but why do you find it annoying C?

i'm not really a fan of either voice, Maleshep is too.... emotionless and Robotic, while Femshep sounds like she has a depression problem, she just sounds so bored, and it bores me.

1. Pleasing to the eyes
After a while, I just got sick of looking at a guy's back.
2. Voice acting
Hale does a different take on Shepard than Veer. I like both VAs, but Hale can really nail some of the lines.
3. Potentially more dramatic dynamics
Some of my most memorabe action / sci-fi stories I've experienced happens to have female leads (ie, Masamune Shirow stuff, Aliens, etc), so playing a female Shepard adds the issue of gender as the story plays out. Sure, one can argue that in an ideal society, gender shouldn't be an issue, but that's precisely why is it's interesting to play a different sex, to see if there is, in fact any differences, whether designed or imagined in my head.
4. And oh, there is something sexy about a women smashing a Krogan with the butt of a shotgun.
Finally, I want to add that for me, as a guy, there is a difference between playing as a male Shepard vs. female Shepard. As a male, I can become Shepard himself. But when a playing female, I am creating a character called Shepard that just happens to be female with a distinct identity, separate from me. To me, that is actually more liberating, able to look at my choices more as a character, as opposed to binding to a self-precieved construct of my alter ego.
I can understand that most people's max play through would only be a small handful of times, and given the limited time they've allowed themselves to invest in this game, they'll most likely prefer their own sex as it's simply makes more sense to role-play. But once you're done with your fantasy-fullfillment fix, I highly encourage playing the opposite sex for a different take. There is nothing wrong or creepy about that. Whoever actually thinks so must be 12... mentally.

ME1 is decent, but in ME2 female Shepard tries too hard to sound badass or sexy. The conversations with Jacob is an example of the latter, even if you're not actually intending to romance him.
Oh yeah the conversations with Jacob.

Probably the fault of the writers. I stopped talking to Jacob after the loyalty mission because, a conversation or two later, all the options in the dialogue tree seemed at least a little bit flirtatious, and I thought I was going to end up getting ninjamanced. I was saving myself for Garrus, so I actually reloaded my game at that point.

I play MaleShep and FemShep. It's easy for me because I never treat Shepard (or the Warden, Hawke, etc) as an extension of myself - they're all characters that I create with their own history, personality, and opinions, and I enjoy creating a lot of different characters.
Same here. I never play as myself in an RPG. I find it much more entertaining to think of myself as a director guiding the actor.

You're safe as long as you choose all neutral dialogue options with Jacob.
