Sharing one dds with multiple mdbs.

Is it ok to use the same dds texture file on multiple placeables?  I have a building and several placeable windows I'm detatching and using for the interior, so all the textures I need are on the same 1024 x 1024 dds file.  So essentially I would have one DDS  file for multiple MDB files.  However, when the placables load up the textures IG, does the whole 1024 x 1024 dds get loaded for each placeable and cause lag and performance loss?

Is it better to create new 256 x 256 dds files for each placeable as opposed to sharing one larger file and saving on download space?

absolutely not. the needed texture is loaded only one time into the memory. therefore reusing the same texture will save a ton of work for the engine ;)

that's btw the biggest error most custom content designers do. for every mesh they create a single texture. instead they should create seamless textures and one reusable 1k diffuse with clever uv tiles :D

Ahh, awesome! good to know then. I can get a whole slew of placeables with this one dds, so that's excellent.
