And you're certainly entitled to them.

Not if they're wrong, passed as fact or clearly biased as my post or the person to whom I made my reply were - the point I was trying to get across was that, just because you have a favourite and it's right where you want it to be, you shouldn't go around making posts about other characters' inferiority simply because you haven't got as much esteem for them when said opinions aren't even requested.
The topic is about the new squad members, not why established character A is more or less relevant  than established character B.
Every character has something that brings them closer to home for some people, making them automatically more relevant to some than to others.
As you no doubt guessed, I'm not fond of the idea of having Tali tagging along as opposed to, say, Legion (let's go with these two for argument's sake, since they share the same class and are part of the same conflict), yet, I avoid talking badly of her or degrading her role in the trilogy - unless I'm trying to make a point, that is.

Off topic done, sorry for the wall of text. =)

As to the OP, why? I know this is kind of a hollow answer, but, because BioWare wanted to. And honestly, this happened in ME2 aswell and I really loved most characters, so I'm more than willing to give these new ones more than a chance.

That may have worked, but then I wouldn't have got to shag him.

Us female gamers have perverse sexual desires to fulfill too, you know.

I resent your implication that only female gamers enjoyed shagging Garrus.

I apologize.  I forgot to consider that EVERYONE secretly wants a little Vakarian in them.

Or a big Vakarian, if his tales of manly conquest are to be believed.

But you cannot deny that Dat Ass contributed very little to story integrity, much less the tight spandex it was wrapped in.

I still maintain that Dat Ass was actually contained in high-tech armor. Unlike, say, Samara's breasts.
(Just trying to get the thread to a better place)

Talking about Miranda's ass and Samara's breasts is getting the thread to a better place?

Sure. I mean, I usually like seeing AdmiralCheez give someone a pounding, but sometimes it's just sad.

A more fun place, if nothing else.

You'd still have Jacob.  If only Bioware hadn't decided to pander to ME1 fans by including Garrus, he'd be getting the prize far more often.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that.  In some shots of him, the uncanny valley effect is strong enough to imagine that he is actually an android.  Are androids perverse enough?

None of my ME saves are with human romances; I'm more perverse than you are.

Why I seem  to be proud of that fact I don't know...

Even so, even if he reached maximum levels of "unnatural!", he is still nowhere near as handsome and badass as Garrus.

Okay mostly I couldn't do him because FemShep acted like a rabid cougar around him, while he kind of acted like a brick.  Buuuut there are merits in other areas (he says "I love you!"  And takes his shirt off!), so I'll romance him in a playthrough or so.

Fair enough. Although, opinions about an individuals favorite character are not within the realm of right or wrong.

You see?  He totally is an edgy character!  His unholy telepathic power is so strong that it twists Femshep's very soul, turning her into another person when she's around him.  The ability to turn Shepard into such a depraved parody of herself is far more perverse than sexual relations with some metallic bird guy.

Because the ME2 squadmates have bigger and more important things to do than stay on board a ship that's been taken over by the Alliance. Wrex has a civilization to revitalize.

That's why.

Ugh, all the Garrus hate in this thread is making me sick. He is clearly the best character in the ME trilogy, and I can say that because no one in ME3 could possibly be better.

And, the way I see it, giving Miranda such a big role in ME2 was an error that could only be rectified by excluding her from the squad in the sequel and bringing back Garrus yet again, with more squad banter and less calibrations.
