So I've been trying to change Merrill's post-romance outfit with no luck. I've looked for mods but haven't found any to my liking. What I would like to do is either a.) make Merrill use her original clothing after I romance her or b.) Have Merrill use the regular green dalish armor instead of the white with chainmail (the kind that Ineria at the Dalish Camp uses).

I did find some help on how to do this by editing the save file, which worked, but stopped working after I traveled to another area. So if anyone knows how to make this change permanent, or knows a mod that makes this so I would be grateful.

I'm not familiar with all of the mods out there, but I used the Diversified Follower Armors mod - it had some alternate outfits for the companions (so for Merrill, there is some swanky gold romance armor), but it essentially unlocks the ability to equip armor on the characters (there's a more robust description on the linked page). If your focus is on Merrill though, you may want to also look at Ish's Scarf for Merrill as well.

LadyShaman's son has an alternate armor that resembles the one you're describing for her romanced outfit (in earth tones similar to the rest of the Dalish), although I am unsure where they got it for the game. You could ask her?

Considering how old this thread is, I'm sure the OP has already found something to suit their tastes, but anyway; there is an outfit here that I think looks rather neat, and the modder in question has made a file that replaces both post and pre-romance armor.
