Update: David Gaider's interview ->http://swooping-is-b...om/1286233.html

I've come across a thread where Chris Priestly said they are working on a new patch for DA II. sadly I cannot find
said thread. But getting back to the point.
I obviously understand that patching a game isn't something that takes a few hours. It can take months.

Since DA-related news have been somewhat quiet, except the news regarding the animated Dawn of the Seeker movie,I thought the next patch, DLC or reveal may be big. I can't point to a specific thread or comments made by devs, but I just feel that something big is coming.

Mind you this is merely based on my own observational skills, which, in situations like this, tend to be right.

Thoughts?

I'm fairly certain we'll get a  patch, and perhaps an "Ultimate Edition" release. But New, story-based content? I doubt it. We might get an official announcement for DA3  sometime after ME3 comes out.  Say...  March-ish or so.

You doubt it but there are two more memento carpets in your treasure room to fill...

Don't make me laugh.

February only has four Tuesdays. The 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th.

The 14th is going to be Mass Effect demo day. Can't see them doing DA and ME on the same day.
Two weeks before ME3 comes out, we will start getting new Cerberus news updates. That's the 21st.
The 28th is the week before ME3 comes out... I can't see them putting time into anything except ME3 at that point.

That leaves the 7th or the week of the 7th for the announcement.  And Kingdoms of Amalur is coming out on the 7th.  Not a good day to build up awareness of a new RPG DLC...

If we don't see something in the next week, I agree we probably won't see anything until well into March or after that.

Yeah, that means exactly nothing.  "empty memento carpets in Hawke's house"  do not dictate  company business decisions lol

It would be kinda hard for them to put out new story content for this game atthis point. Other than us diehards that come here I don't think there are many people that would still be interested in DLC for DA2 the game has been out for too long people have moved on.

On the contrary, I've seen quite a few people interested in new DA II DLC. "Us diehards" as you put it, are actually quite a lot of people.

A lot of us "diehards" would like to see 2 more dlc's before DA3 comes out. I personally would like to see a dlc showing what happens to Hawke (and Anders), after leaving Kirkwall, and, what happens to all of Hawk's npcs. Another thing I'm curious about is the supposed falling apart of the Circle and Chantry in other areas. Did the Kirkwall uprising really affect the rest of Thedas?

I think that's covered in the Awakening novel.

I've never heard of the Awakening novel; do you mean the Asunder novel?

Then we agree to disagree because I'm 100% certain that there will be more story DLCs.

I keep wanting an overhaul for DA II similar to the Witcher 1's Enhanced Edition. I know it's a pipe dream, but still... I'd be content with at least two more DLC's and an expansion. Would be great.

I'm pretty sure that we'll get at least one more story DLC. I'm personally hoping it's related to being the champion and/or sorting out the Enigma of Kirkwall veil business.

We'll probably at least get one more DLC to advertise for DA3 similar to Witch Hunt.

Well, I'm fairly certain that one more dlc is coming but I'm also hoping for an expansion, but I'm starting to think that's just dreaming. When they finally get around to talking about DA again I will be very happy indeed.

more likely this is the case.  A big reveal before Me3 comes out my take some of me3 thunder.  I think something will be revealed in March as well.  I just hope it isn't Da3 coming in March 2013, too soon.

Well I hate to tell you but thats most likely going to happen. Bioware has been releasing a new game every year so DA3 will be here next year if not I'll be suprised.

I doubt that. It's much more likely that after ME3 releases, we see the continuation of DA II DLC and an expansion afterwards and (this one is just a hope) some DLC after that, that finishes off Hawke's story. During the same period, we may an alternation of ME3 DLC releases, expansion for DA II and DA-related news. Along with the comics and other stuff we will probably see.

I think they (EA) have realised that pushing a game that is meaty-RPG out that quickly is a mistake.

They are not in money troubles anymore, there's hope.

Which will officially spell the end of my time as a consumer of BioWare products. ME2 had what appears to be at least a 3-year development and while the game itself was good in terms of gameplay, the story lacked. DA2 had a 2-year development cycle and it couldn't even hold a candle to ME2 in terms of gameplay or overall quality. Now ME3 is coming out on a 2-year dev cycle and it really has me worried. If DA3 is announced for 2013, I'm done with BW products.

Except for TOR- an 5-8 year dev cycle makes BW produce pure awesome. I'm also thankfull I'm not a hard-core MMO guy so I don't have the hangups that a lot of the WoW and Rift guys seem to have...

Just curious... When was the last time Bioware put out a DLC more than 1 year after its main game's release?
