And these same people who claim to be marketing experts with their doom and gloom prognostications will be the first ones to complain when they do release something.

It's not "Doom and Gloom" to say that Bioware has likely  moved on and is now working on  DA3.  It's about as optimistic as  claiming that they're secretly working on a DLC that they don't want anyone to know about.   Enough with the  Straw Men already.

And I can't wait to see yours when they DON'T, and when they officially announce DA3 and you're like "WTF! But you said... er... wait....! I'm not ready!"

What I find amusing is that DA2 was slammed for being too hastily made.

Now that they are taking their time working on things, people are slamming them for taking too long, or using that as an excuse to claim nothing more is forthcoming.

I would've thought the eerie silence from Bioware with regards to whether or not they're working on anything has more to do with folk suspecting there's nothing actually incoming, myself.

It's not as if they've announced something and people are here complaining that it's taking too long, after all.

We've also been discussing the likelihood of getting more DLC at length and I would say the chances are very slim.
People still holding out for this "big" DLC event may find themselves waiting forever.

It would make more sense to assume they have moved on to DA3.

Ah... Hello? Import bugs, quest-related bugs (Sketchy on the Details, Who Needs Rescuing?), DLC bugs. Don't talk if you don't know what the hell is being discussed.

I know what is being discussed, thank you very much.
I have played the game and all the DLC multiple times and I have not come across any game breaking bugs. My Origins saves also imported without any problems.
So don't get all aggressive, take it easy!
I know it's your thread and all but if you can't handle people voicing their opinions (and disagreeing with you) then perhaps you shouldn't start discussions like these.

I'm not being agressive, that's just the way I talk (or type I guess;)).
Sorry if I sounded like a jackass, but what you call opinions I call misinformation.
I accept opinions of all kind, but misinformation is not a valid source for an opinion.

Take the facts and base your opinion on those. Pay attention is what I'm getting at.

Again, sorry if I seemed like a d*ck. Totally not my intention.:P

Well, there is that image Chris posted of Merrill in a new outfit with shoe, glove, and hat slots open in the inventory. New expansion, maybe?

That is essentially what spurred me to start this thread, unfortunately so many people just came here to tell us that the game is dead (which thousands have done before).

I figure no news is good news.  If they haven't confirmed that they aren't making any more DLC, then I shall continue to assume that they will be making more DLC.  Arguing about it one way or the other seems rather pointless, given that none of us lowly forumites are actually privy to what's going on at BioWare and it's all just speculation at this point.  Shall we instead argue over the existence of the flying spaghetti monster?  We'll probably come to about as much of a consensus.

As to the nature of any potential future DLC, I'm inclined to agree with the OP.  It's been a while since we've heard anything, if there's more coming I suspect it will be something big, like an expansion.  Someone a few pages back said something about a base game overhaul, which in all likely hood will not happen, but I've gotta say, I would kill for something like that.  I'm definitely a DA2 fan, but I'll be the first to say it could be greatly improved.  Oh, if only.  *Dreams*

Maybe a Avaline romance? I would buy the whole game again if they would add this.

I'm pretty sure the whole studio is in Mass Effect crunch time so no one really has any time to work on or mess around with Dragon Age right now. They're making sure ME3 release as stable and bug free as possible so everyone is playtesting and bug zapping up to the very last second. And even then they're going to keep their ear to the ground on player reactions to the game just in case they missed the one game crashing bug they may have missed and need to patch asap.

I expect maybe one more story and one more item pack after ME3 releases before they swing into ME3 DLC.

The corrupted save bug inherent for ALL PS3 people that have both Legacy and MotA, rendering DAII unplayable for that section of players.

Which is really another big strike against Bioware for me. DAII was rushed and suffered for it, and then MotA just had to be released on the same day Redemption was coming out and now DAII again suffers from it.

And we have had no word on progress. No "We're making some strides in correcting the issue" or "It's tough, so we don't know when we'll get it fixed but we're still working on it".

All we've gotten is a "We're listening to the fans still!", which doesn't tell much about the progress of a patch.

The only reason I could really bring myself to replay DAII despite how much I despise it was for the companions. Now, the game is just collecting dust because of this bug, and I say let it.

Skyrim's bugs aren't as game-breaking as the DAII save bug (which is funny that I say that because a few days ago I called a bug in Skyrim game-breaking before I realized a way to fix it. So it wasn't as game-breaking as I thought. Just.... irritating).

If Bioware still wants to keep the fans on their side, then they need to pull MotA off of the PSN store until this fix sees the light of day, if it ever does. At the very least, place a big, fat, bolded warning on the PSN store's MotA thing telling people of this bug and say "Buyer beware".

Maybe we will have some sort of info included in Mass Effect 3? There was something about the Arrival in Dragon Age 2 box.

Yeah, that means exactly nothing.  "empty memento carpets in Hawke's house"  do not dictate  company business decisions lol

I'm forced to agree with this :(. As the recent interview points out, they may have (or have had) any number of plans, however that doesn't mean that something will happen the way they plan it, or even that something that has had a lot of development work will get released.

They may have indeed designed the memento rooms for three (or four? I've only observed spaces for three), and they might be working on a DLC right at this moment. If there is anything I've learned from reading dev interviews and forums posts over many years is that nothing like this (the memento area) should be taken for granted. There are, unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances that can occur within the game development itself (it doesn't fit with previous content, they're short on time/resources, etc) or from business concerns (it wouldn't be profitable to continue development of said content).

So, while I'm certainly hoping that there will be an additional DLC from the memento room hint, it's not a guarantee.

At this point, other than rehashing old topics or other various lore speculations, there is no reason to even come to these forums. I keep coming here anyway hoping for some nugget of information on future DA content. Other than the six issue digital release comic coming on February 22, and the anime that is several months down the road, there's nothing to look forward to...

:crying:

If you haven't experienced any bugs from 1.03, then that's great. However, they are there. The single largest issue that affects every person who plays or uses a 2h warrior is the sunder bug. An entire list for all platforms can be found here.

There are still a plethora of import issues, the very least of which is that the entire events of DAO after you deal with Redcliffe are not recorded in A Study of the Fifth Blight, Vol. Two, which is just silly. Unless they are planning to alter significantly they way they handle imports, or just allow people to build a history on character creation for DA3, these issues should be fixed.

Hell, there are still bugs that exist with DAO that they are trying to work on.

At this point ME3 is coming out and Amalur is out next week. Interest will be drawn to those titles. If they annouce DA3 that will get some attention, but for them to get it right this time that should be a release several years away.

If it's just DLC it will be a ho-hum reaction from alll but the die-hards. Myself I waited until two DLCs and 3 patches were out before I gave this another try. Still haven't finished the main game again. Now if the DLC features hot and heavy action with Isabella on the high seas, all bets are off.

I'm with you. Obviously, we have no way of KNOWING anything... but they were pretty quick in telling us that Witch Hunt, Arrival, etc. were the last DLCs. I can't think of any reason they wouldn't be able to confirm that nothing else was coming... but I can think of lots of reasons for them to be silent if something else IS in the works. Then again, I'm not in the business, so who knows.

The Mass Effect and Dragon Age teams are separate. The writers, producers, cinematics people, etc don't generally miix between the two projects.

They really need to do story based DLC about what happened after DA 2 (like DAO:A).

Really? Why? I mean, sure people are still hating DAII -- of which I am among them -- but it's not like it's the stuff that was present many months ago. The bashing that exists now is entirely -- or at least primarily -- intellectual and not "DERR FIRE DA DEVS!".

I don't think the forums have become such a place where the devs have to use secret accounts just to peer through their own windows to their second home.

Ten or eleven months ago I could understand that. That's what Mike Laidlaw did then and I certainly understand why he did it. People were clamoring for him to be fired and insulting him.

I mean, I was severely disappointed with DAII. But for people to have gone so far as to have demanded that a man lose his job simply for being lead designer of a game that wasn't very well received.... well.... that's a line that should never have been or ever again should be crossed.

Wait, what bug? I have PS3 and both dlc and I haven't encountered that. How do you trigger it? I've avoided it so far.

Basically all it requires is you finish both DLCs -- actually just go past the Vault area -- and load up a save for that file.

So if you went past the Vault, saved, turned off the game, and then loaded that same save then the file would be corrupt.

At least, that's what's happened to me with every single playthrough where I've gone through MotA. Which means that I literally spent 10 bucks on a virtual paperweight.
