Regarding 'future content', here's what we've heard from the Devs:

1) We have not seen the last of the Wardens, or the Hero of Fereldan.
2) We have not seen the last of Hawke
3) Morrigan is a critical figure  in Dragon Age, and we haven't seen the last of Her.

To interpret any of this to mean: "there's gonna be more DA2 DLC!" is absolutely baseless, as they did not say so, and  even the statements by themselves do not remotely suggest such a thing anyway.

Nobody ever assumed anything. We would simply prefer it to be DLC or an expansion. It is also what you would assume by nature given that this is a videogame and it would be a terrible move for those who liked Hawke as a character. A movie or book do not allow the same level of freedom as a game would.

Fans who did not care for Hawke as a protagonist would likely not care for a book or movie which would ristrict the freedom they could have as players (one of the main gripes people had with DA II, as I'm sure you know), and fans who like DA II and want experience more of his/her story would be unable to continue the story of a character they themselves created, are invested in and have created an emotional attachement with.

It is likely to be a DLC, that does not mean we assume that as an absolute truth.

By the by the money made from DA II sales covered the production costs and turned a profit (albeit smaller than DA:O's) so DLC development is not a very likely candidate for abandonment.

Hawke is already Bioware's character and not mine. If Bioware made a movie/anime/book with him I wouldn't mind at all because of that fact.

The in-game Hawke was never once my character. I was just constantly playing Bioware's character.

As I pointed out before Mike Laidlaw has already confirmed that Hawkes story will be wrapped up with DA2 DLC. That means there will be at least one more story DLC.

^that's the post I quoted from just a page ago.   Hell,  that's more than an assumption.  That's a flat out FALSE claim.  Mike Laidlaw said no such thing.

"We will find out what happened to Hawke’s companions in future content." Dunno if that is DA2 or DA3.

Probably just means the same sort of cameos we had in DA2 with DA:Os cast will be in DA3 with DA2s cast.

at this point, I'm ready for them to move on from DA2 and just formally reveal/announce DA3.

There was a point really late in DA2, we did DA2 in a really short span of time so we were working really hard, and as is typical for writers, we have to finish before anyone else. So we're in the pool first, we have to be out of the pool first, so all the cinematic designers and voice recording stuff can start to occur. So all our crunch time is happening in the middle of the project as opposed to at the end. So right in the middle we get a little punch-drunk and put in things to amuse ourselves, or we go insane.

I liked this quote the best.

Maybe you feel this way, but many other players don't. They like the Hawke they have made and want to continue to develop their character.

You probably didn't read the rest of my post, in all your haste to win this argument. It is natural to assume we receive this "content" in DLC form, for reasons already explained.

Mark of the Dragon assumed as much because that is what he/she and the rest of us who like DA II want to see. It is natural to do so when you like a game.

Besides, after they show a shot of Merrill in golden armor with the armor slots available just like the ones for Hawke, I think we have a pretty damn good reason to assume these improvements will be coming for DA II still.

I am sincerely starting to think you are only here to troll. It's like you just stumbled onto the forums, saw something regarding a game you disliked, an are now proceeding to pissing everybody off with your posts.

If you're not going to add anything productive to the discussion, just leave.

Perhaps you should just stick to speaking for yourself.

Or maybe you just have no clue where that shot came from, or its context.  Let me help you out.  It was part of  Mike Laidlaw's Slide show presentation at the New York Comic Con.  Fast forward to about 6:55  of the video  if you wish to see Merril in a gold outfit and armor slots.

Then go back to the  beginning and watch the whole thing, until it becomes Obvious to you  that they're discussing  concepts  for Dragon age 3, not  Dragon age 2.

Or simply close your eyes and plug your ears and wish away, blindly and deafly ignoring everything that goes counter to your wishes.  Makes no difference to me.

And yet again you prove that you are misinformed. Just because the video says "Dragon Age 3 NYCC Teasers", does not mean they are reffering to DA3 exclusively, they never stated something like " these improvements will not be present in any future DA2 content that we may or may not do".

I have watched the video various times, and can tell you with a certainty that they never specifically state wether this is DA3 or 2 only.

You are assuming things based on the title of the video and I'm the one who doesn't undertand the context of the panel? Maybe you should practice what you preach?

You apparently watched it and yet simply because the title has "Dragon Age 3" in the name you imediately assume this to be DA3 only. If you had been following DA-related announcements like we have, you would have realised that they were reffering to Dragon Age in a broader sense.

Seems to me, that you are the one closing your eyes and pluging you ears.

You're letting your negativity get in the way of logic.

Do what you must, it makes no difference to me.B)

Aah, you didn't watch the video, and listen to what Mike Laidlaw actually says.  That's fine, I'll give you about 10 minutes before I come back and correct you...again.

Incidently:

they never stated something like " these improvements will not be present in any future DA2 content that we may or may not do".

They didn't have to.  Some of the improvements they mentioned would require a new .exe for the main game.  Which they won't do for a friggin DLC.

But they COULD do a stand-alone expansion seperate from the main game. This would allow all these improvements to be implemented while keeping the game basically the same.

It is a possibilty and an enticing one at that.

Of course, they could also  put out 1.6 million more unique DLCs, one for every human being who bought DA2.

They won't  do either, however.  DA2 wasn't THAT successful.  And they missed the attention window  for it anyway, even if it had been.

AAAAAAND you're back to talking out of your ass without any actual, factual evidence to support your claims.

The whole negativity thing? Get rid of it. It clouds your better judgement.

I would also like to state that DA2 made enough money to make back the funds spent on production costs.

So an expansion (eg. something that makes more money (especially if it attracts old fans that were put off by a few design decisions in DA2)) is a sound business plan.

I didn't make a claim.  I was mocking your fantasies.

And  you're not a moderator, so stop pretending that you can tell people how they should post.

I may not be a moderator, but I sure as hell am not going to let you derail MY thread simply because you don't know your facts.

I don't need need or want to be a moderator. Doing what they do with pure logic is much more satisfying.

Have a nice day.:)

I'll post what I want.

And you've yet to refute anything I've said  or  linked us to.      Running around, putting words into people's mouths,  calling people "trolls", and telling them  to "please don't post anything negative!", is  pretty much ALL you've been doing on this thread for the past 2 pages.
