This thread is for complaining about the ME3-squadroster.
Due to the subject of the thread, spoilers are allowed, however keeping the leaked files out of the discussion is appreciated.

So, discuss: Who would you have wanted in the squad and who would you have left out.

[Edit 2] Here´s also some facts about the complicated squad-hassle.

-Mordin´s absense can be accredited to his old age.
-Jacob was the least used squadmate of ME2.
-Tali is Shepard´s only notable connection to the whole quarian-civilization.
-Garrus´s overall plot importance can be somewhat questioned, yet he has a permanent-status in all 3 games.
-Miranda´s demise was made hard to achieve in the Suicide Mission.
-Of all the ME2-squad, Kasumi had likely the most potential technically to get a permanent-status in ME3:
 1. She´s a payed DLC-character, so not everyone got her and thus, didn´t have the option to kill her off in SM.
 That means that she is still technically alive in the universe.
 2. She is alive, in both of the preset-paths in ME3.
 3. She and Morinth are also deemed the worst result out of the SM, on BSN.
-Thane is most likely the representive of the Drell-race.
-Samara is Shepard´s connection to the Justicars.
-Jack has had a large redesign, which obviously implies at least a temporary squadmate-status.
-Liara became the SB in ME2, yet she is a permanent squadmate in ME3.
-According to BW´s staistics, only about 20% players played as a female Shepard in ME2 and the 80%, who played a male, very likely nuked Kaidan in their import, or started a default.

Hmm. I'd leave out Liara and A/K. Instead I'd have Wrex, Mordin and then Jack return as permanent members.


I'd really like Legion to come back, but he fills the same basic role as one of the spoiler mates, and I like that addition far too much to throw it out. 
Zaeed and Kasumi would also have been nice to fill out into full squaddies, but there's just no room if we're keeping it a smaller, more content dense group.

Liara would be SB and fighting the war on a different front and in her place would be Miranda

Replace spoiler nb. 1 with Legion.

Liara is too important to participate in fight, so if we need another exotic adept, then my vote goes for Samara. If not, Jack will go.

Possibly switch Garrus for Zaeed, but that's not necessary.


And please add some new Sentinel or return Miranda. Even I have saves with Ashley alive.

The ME3 squad should have been...

- VS (lead character from ME1)
- Miranda (Lead character from ME2).
- Garrus (Shepard's sidekick).
- Liara.
- Vega (His class should be variable, if Ash is the vs then he is a Sentinel, if Kaidan is the VS he should be a Soldier).
- New engineer character (Or Tali/Legion).
- New vanguard character (Jack or a new Krogan).

Seems like a good hierarchy, although I'm ignorant of the spoilers. Kaiden is dead.  If Vega can get past his apeishness he might be worthwhile.  I think I'll have threesome with Ashley and Liara

hmmm If I could have picked my squad it would be mostly the same. Just remove Vega and she spoiler and add one more spot on the squad so it could be eight people so the squad would be:

Garrus
Tali
Liara
Legion
Mordin
Grunt
Prothy
Ashley

that would be my perfect squad but maybe switch out Ashley for Miranda or Jack in a couple playthroughs if it was possible

From the Kasumi's importance list you forgot the graybox's reaper related content, the lack of a singel hater for her, and that she and the xenophobic ashley is the only chance for SÍhepard to have children(Kelly spreads scale itch, miranda is sterile, tali would die, all asari would produce asari kids, and no sane man would romance jack).

Of course even if she's only a perma squadmate(or not even that) but romancable(and I mean romance. not have sex once) I will not complain. Otherwise it would be my first time bioware disappointed me(including da2).

But if it were my choice. Ditch Garrus for Legion Tali for Kasumi. Liara for Thane. Wouldn't mind Zaeed and Wrex back. I didn't really fight with Mordin but I enjoyed his company. How about crewmember?

I don't really see a god reason for she-spoiler's existence. She's basicly a hentai replacement for Legion.

He-spoiler could be done good(I I didn't read the full scripts. I just searched for Harbinger and Kasumi and found nothing) but everyone could see it comming from miles away.

Conclusion: The only squadie I actually liked from ME1 was: Wrex.In ME3 squad none of ME2 returns, but we have the whole ME1 bunch excluding one. Guess who.

I want to space Ashley. She treated me like crap when I returned. So done with her.

Don't know how they're going to handle a returning romance from ME2.

And since we got screwed and only got Legion for 3/4 missions (unless we wanted everyone on the ship to die) he should be permanent.

- Garrus was the most used, but you're still throwing him under the bus.

- Is that all?

- A character doesn't have to be directly related to the plot to be significant. Morality and decision-making are important themes of the series, and no one's personality or stories reflect that as much as Garrus's do. The other characters might have had to make difficult decisions, but they're all set in their ways, more or less.

- It would be a shame if the devs used game mechanics like this to determine who would be in the game and who wouldn't. If you got Garrus and Tali killed, it was your own fault.

- You could say the same thing about Garrus and the turians, but you don't. Thane doesn't have any position of power in any sort of Drell government. He's also an assassin, and not exactly the type to rally people to a specific cause, whereas Garrus is sort of a natural leader within the story by ME2. Plus, Thane is almost certainly close to death by now; Shepard managed to pull him away from retirement briefly for the Collector mission, but it would be rude to give him more work.

- Samara follows her code so strictly, she's almost like a robot. I doubt the justicars will care about the Reapers until they've reached asari space.

- Ferron could easily take over her duties--and with minimal job training, considering he hangs out with Liara all the time once you've finished LotSB.

- If you're implying that Kaidan should be removed to make way for one of your favorites, while it wouldn't affect me personally because my FemShep virmired him, that's just absurd.

I don't mind too much. I've had time to get used to the idea of the squadmate roster, though I'd prefer Legion in my team, instead of the one who was in an infinitely better role before.

-I'd have replaced spoiler squadmate #1 with Legion.
-I'd have Ashley, Mordin, Jack, Samara, Kasumi.
-Possibly Wrex, though I like what he's doing with the krogan.
-Would be happy to keep spoiler squadmate #2, but don't mind either way. Don't mind keeping Garrus/Tali either, but would sooner have the others.
